    Visitations at The Boyce Funeral Home, Chapel, Visitation and Reception Centre 138 Daniel St. N., Arnprior on Sunday 1:00-4:00 p.m., 7:00-9:00 p.m. and after 11:00 a.m. Monday June 27, 2011 until service time in the Chapel at 1:00 p.m.
    Interment Arnprior Albert Street Cemetery. Following the burial service there will be a luncheon in the Galetta Community Hall. Donations in memory of Bill may be made to the charity of one's choice.

    In Arnprior Hospital, Monday, September 28, 1987, Annie Mason Symington (nee Sutherland) of Arnprior, in her 81st year. Beloved wife of Milton Symington. Dear mother of Allan, Renfrew; Helen (Mrs. Bill Dean), Kay Bretzlaff, both of Arnprior, Doreen (Mrs. Garnet Ziebarth), Pakenham and Ron of Cornwall. Predeceased by daughter Eileen Ziebarth. Dear sister of Jean (Mrs. Alex Symington), Arnprior. Predeceased by sisters Morlena and Margaret Turner. Survived by 12 grandchildren. Resting at the Boyce Funeral Home Limited, 138 Daniel Street North, Arnprior, where service will be held in the chapel Thursday, October 1, 1987, at 2:30 p.m. Interment Auld Kirk Cemetery, Almonte.     MRS. J. H. SYMINGTON

    The death occurred in the Rosamond Memorial Hospital, Almonte on Tuesday, Aug. 30th of Mrs. Joseph (Margaret Jennett Munro) H. Symington following a short illness. She was 81. Born in Darling Township, she received her education there and in 1903 married Joseph H. Symington, a Ramsay Township farmer and former Reeve of Ramsay. Mrs. Symington was an active church worker in St. Paul's Anglican Church. She was a member of the Women's Auxiliary and the Ladies' Guild. Besides her husband, she leaves three sons and two daughters, Milton and Alex of Arnprior; Chas. of Almonte; Mrs. Everton McIntyre of Saskatoon; Mrs. Cecil Mclntyre of Almonte, also one brother, Alex Munro of Galbraith, 14 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. The body was at the Kerry-Scott Funeral Home until Friday when the funeral service was conducted at St. Paul's Anglican Church by Rev. Canon J. W. R. Meakin. Interment was in St. Paul's Cemetery. The pallbearers were Messrs. Allan, Donald, Claire and Wayne Symington, William Dean and Lorne Bretzlaff.

    Mr. P.Y. Sutherland
    The death of Mr P.Y. Sutherland came as a shock to his many friends and acquaintances. He had been in ill health for several weeks and suddenly was called to rest on Wednesday, April 27th. Born and brought up in Ramsay, son of the late Angus Sutherland and his wife Margaret Young, deceased was in his 66th year. He was married to Annie Young, who predeceased him three years ago. Later he was married to Isabel McIntyre, who survives him. During his long residence in the district Mr Sutherland was a devoted member of Bethany United Church and also an Elder. In his home he was a devoted husband and father and an inspiration for good in every sense. The funeral took place on Friday afternoon from his late residence, Ninth line Ramsay to the Auld Kirk Cemetery. Impressive services were conducted by Rev J.R. MacCrimmon, Bethany United Church, assisted by Revs Fowlie, Presbyterian Church, Warren, Blakeney United Church and Rutherford, Reformed Presbyterian Church. The profusion of beautiful floral offerings received by the family testified to the high esteem in which Mr Sutherland was held by his many friends and acquaintances and to the deep sympathy generally felt. Many letters of sympathy and regret were also received by the family. The pallbearers were six elders, William Munroe, Alex Metcalfe, Hurbert Coxford, Adam Craig, W.J. Paul and ester Jamieson. The surviving relatives to mourn his loss are his wife and four daughters, Morlena, Mrs M. Turner; Margaret, Mrs J.B. Turner; Annie, Mrs Milton Symington, and Jean at home. and one stepdaughter, Miss Jean L. McIntyre of Ottawa. There are also three brothers and one sister, Angus, Milwaukee, and Mrs Dr. A.G. Young of Smiths Falls. The relatives in attendance from a distance were, Mr A.K. Sutherland, Milwaukee; Mr and Mrs D. Sutherland, Detroit; Mr and Mrs Dr. Young and Miss Evelyn Young, Smiths Falls; Mr and Mrs John Sutherland, Eganville; Mr and Mrs Robert and Mrs Andrew Young, Ottawa; Mr and Mrs Fred Boal and family, Kemptville; Mr and Mrs T.G. Wilson; Mr and Mrs Daniel Wilson, Mrs Allan Grierson, and Mrs Baker, Arnprior; Mr and Mrs Wm Young, Mr and Mrs Andrew Young, Claybank; Mr and Mrs Robert Buchan, Kinburn; Mr Hugh Young, Bristol; Mr and Mrs Wm McIntyre, Mr Kenneth McIntyre, White Lake; Mr and Mrs D. McIntyre, Mr and Mrs W.J. McClure, Arnprior; Mr and Mrs Morton Ritchie and Master Morris Ritchie, Arnprior. The deepest sympathy of the community goes out to the bereaved family.

    Sudden Death of Well Known Lady
    Mrs P.Y. Sutherland, of Ramsay was one of The Most Highly Esteemed Women of the District
    The sudden death last Friday afternoon, of Annie E.M. Young, wife of Mr Peter Y. Sutherland, one of the best and most highly esteemed women of this district, came as a great shock to her many friends and acquaintances. She had apparently been in her accustomed good health up to the time of the sudden and unexpected illness, with which she was stricken, and from which she never regained consciousness Born and brought up near Almonte, the daughter of the late William and Mrs Young of Ramsay Township, deceased was in her 55th year. She was married to Mr Peter Y. Sutherland of Ramsay Township, thirty years ago. In her own home she was a devoted wife and mother and an inspiration for good in every sense. During her long residence in this district. Mrs Sutherland took a leading part in church work. She was a devout member of Bethany United Church, Almonte, and was an indefatigable worker in connection with the Women's Missionary and Ladies' Aid Societies, deeply interested in all the activities of church life. Mrs Sutherland was loved and esteemed by many friends to whom she had endeared herself by her many charming and pleasant qualities. The funeral took place on Sunday afternoon from her late residence, Ramsay Township to the Auld Kirk Cemetery. Impressive services were conducted by Rev J.R. MacCrimmon, of Bethany United Church, who was assisted by Rev W.H. McCracken of the Presbyterian Church, Almonte. One of the sincerest tributes ever paid a citizen of this district was the large assemblage at the funeral, the latter being one of the largest ever held in this locality.
