Edward Armstrong was born April 22, 1864, at Birdsall, N. Y. From four to twenty years of age be lived on a farm at Almond. When 25 years old he gave up farming, and went to Sandusky, N. Y., where for several years he worked in the Theodore Hayden woolen mills; later he worked in the Merrill drug and general store at Sandusky.
In 1900 Mr. Armstrong moved to Franklinville, and established a fire insurance agency, which he conducted for five years. He has since spent several years in each of the Ontario Knife Factory, A. W. Kelsey Jewelry store, and W. H. Bates? grocery, and is now employed in the latter. Mr. Armstrong is an active member of the Free Methodist church, and treasurer of the society. He is also treasurer of the Prohibition county committee. In 1887 he married Miss Phina Hyde of Sandusky. They have four children, Floyd E., Mae, Ruth and Clinton.

Edward Lloyd Buttram, 71, passed away August 20, 2009 at Rex Hospital. Born in Georgia on August 30, 1937; he was the son of the late Alice and Marshall "Doc" Buttram.
Lloyd retired from Dow Corning in marketing and recently was with Home Depot in sales.

Edward M. Moreash, Sr. May 14, 1941 - July 27, 2013 Plainfield - Edward M. Moreash, Sr., 72, of 267 Lake St. Moosup died early Saturday morning at his home. He was born May 14, 1941 in Groton a son of the late Fred M. and Ruth (Perlatti) Moreash and had lived in Eastern Ct for most of his life. He was a U.S. Navy veteran. Mr. Moreash was a retired construction laborer. He is survived by three sons, Edward M. Moreash, Jr. of Moosup, Gene Moreash of Plainfield and Bryan Moreash of New York; one brother Harold Moreash of Ledyard; five sisters, Vera Shaw of Pawcatuck, Anna Mae Bielik of OH, Patricia Young and Gladys Mitchell both of ME, Shirley Jones of SC; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Edward William LaCroix III, 42, of Essex, died March 9 at his home. He was born in New Haven on June 30, 1967, son of Edward W. LaCroix, Jr., and Marcia (Brockway) LaCroix. He was a graduate of Xavier High School and had attended the University of Hartford.
Besides his parents, he is survived by his sister Denise Cormier of Clinton, his niece and nephew Kaitlyn and Keith Russell of Old Saybrook, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins, as well as his beloved friends. He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents Russell Brockway and Annette (DeSanto) Brockway and by his paternal grandparents Edward W., Sr., and Jeanette LaCroix.
A funeral Mass was held on March 13 at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Essex. Burial was in Centerbrook Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ed's favorite charity. Edward William Price, 55, of Manahawkin, NJ, passed away April 14, 2012. Born in Syracuse, New York, Ed attended Scituate, Massachusetts High School and Emerson College. Ed moved to Columbus, Ohio, where he started his career as a computer engineer at Jeffrey Mining & Equipment Company. While in Columbus, Ed volunteered with the Columbus Zoo, where he had the unique opportunity to babysit a six-month old mountain lion. Ed moved to Freehold, NJ where he continued his computer engineering career at Continental Insurance in Neptune, NJ. While in Freehold, Ed was an active member of the Freehold First Aid Squad. While working for Continental Insurance, Ed met Marion Daniels, the love of his life and wife for 22 years. Ed and Marion moved to Manahawkin where Ed became a life member of the Stafford Township First Aid Squad. Born with a congenital heart defect, Ed bravely endured a number of surgeries and medical problems, throughout he continued to live life to its fullest owning a disk jockey business and most recently motorcycling.
Ed is survived by wife of 22 years, Marion Daniels Price, Manahawkin; his mother, Alice Price; and three sisters, Judith (John) of Hopewell, New York, Lorraine (Petr) Kuzma of Princeton, New Jersey, Michelle (Todd) Tuttle of Charlotte, North Carolina, along with their spouses; his nephews, Carl Alexander of Tracy, California, Alouette Alexander of Randolph, MA and Christopher Morgan of Charlotte, North Carolina; and grandnephew, Tyler Meaney and grandniece, Macyn Meaney of Randoph, MA.
Quick with his wit, Ed brought a number of laughs to his extended family and will be greatly missed by all. Hours before Edward's death, his father, Floyd, also passed away.
The family will receive relatives and friends for both Edward and Floyd Thursday, April 19, 2012 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 145 St. Catherine Blvd., Toms River, NJ. The funeral Mass will be offered 11 a.m. Friday, April 20, 2012 at St. Mary of the Pine's Church, Manahawkin, NJ. Edwin "Jerry" L. Jerome, Jr., 70, of East Granby, beloved husband of Theresa (Barnas) Jerome died suddenly at home, Thursday, (June 11, 2009). Born April 30, 1939 in Northampton, MA, he was the son of Edwin L. Jerome, Sr. of Hadley, MA and the late Miriam (Ferris) Jerome. He has lived in East Granby for the past 56 years. After high school he entered the United States Air Force and served during the Vietnam War. After the war he was employed by Pratt & Whitney for the next 41 years and 7 months before retiring in 2006 where he received multiple awards including the Eagle and Appreciation Award. Jerry was a long time active member at Truth and Freedom Ministry, Windsor and was currently serving as Vice President and Treasurer. He was also the leader of the Thursday night prayer group. In Jerry's free time he refinished trunks, enjoyed fishing, bird watching, travelling to Maine and watching the Boston Red Sox. He also was the former coach of The Farmers softball team. Besides his wife, Theresa, of 35 years he is survived by three sons, Rusty Jerome and his wife, Tiffany of Milwaukee, WI, David Warner and his wife, Pamela of San Diego, CA, Paul Warner of Knoxville, TN; a daughter, Kimberly Lingenheld and her husband, David of Bloomfield; two sisters, Marilyn Perry and her husband, Richard of Hadley, MA, Anita Helliewell and her husband, Robert of Palmer, MA; six grandchildren, Clarissa, Daniel, Taylor, Brianna, Sarah and Colton; and many nieces and nephews. Edwin L. Shaw, Jr., 82, beloved husband for 64 years of Vera (Pieretti) Shaw of Sisk Dr., Pawcatuck, passed away at RI Hospital on Tuesday, May 06, 2014.
Born in Westerly, he was a son of the late Edwin L., Sr. and Ethel Shaw.
Edwin was a vendor with Canteen Corp. for many years until his retirement and had also been formerly employed as a Stonington school bus driver. He was a member of the Groton Elks, a volunteer for the Westerly Ambulance Corps and had served several years with the Stonington Democratic Town Committee. Edwin was a very active member of the Teamsters and was previously involved with the Pawcatuck Little League where he volunteered much of his time.
In addition to his wife, Edwin leaves three daughters, Lois (John) Kisch and Beverly (Scott) Howard, all of Westerly and Patricia (Donald) Jeffrey of Florida, as well as a sister, Beverly Fee of Westerly. He will also be sadly missed by five grandchildren, Greg, Brian and Kimberly Howard, Timothy Kisch and Dorothy Jeffrey; three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Edwin was predeceased by a sister, Marilyn White.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday from 4-7 p.m., in Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce St., Westerly. A funeral service will take place on Friday at 12 noon in the funeral home. Edwin Lee Hardin Maple Rapids Edwin Lee Hardin, age 68, of Maple Rapids, formerly of Byron Center, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 26, 2012. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sherman and Gernith Hardin; brother, Sherman; and a son, James. He will be dearly missed by his children, Candace and Ricky Fisk, Robert Hardin, John and Connie Hardin; six grandchildren, Rachel, Courtney, Barbara, Edwin, Max, Emelya; one great grandchild, Jayden. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Saturday at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home, (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Drive with Rev. Egbert Boes officiating. Interment Boynton Cemetery. Eileen A. Fick, age 98, passed away Saturday, September 30, 2017, in South Bend, IN.
Eileen was born February 9, 1919, in Baltimore, MD, a daughter to the late George and Viola Atkins.
She graduated from Catonsville High School in Catonsville, MD, and matriculated at the College of Notre Dame of Maryland, from which she received her Bachelor of Science degree, cum laude, in 1939.
Eileen enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1944, and was assigned to the Naval Warfare Testing Station at Solomon Island on the Chesapeake Bay. She met her future husband, Clarence Fick, who was serving as an officer on a mine sweeper, and they subsequently married on November 20, 1946, in Halethorpe, MD. He preceded her in death on February 16, 2010.
Eileen moved to Missouri with Clarence, where they first lived in Rich Fountain, later moving to Jefferson City where they started a family, and then residing in St. Louis. In 1968, Eileen and Clarence returned to central Missouri, building a new home just outside of Linn.
Eileen was a long-time member of the Osage County Extension Club and was a founding donor of the Women in Military Service for America Memorial in Arlington, VA.
Eileen is survived by one son, Robert Fick and one daughter Barbara Fick.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 17, 2017, at St. George Catholic Church in Linn with Fr. Daniel Merz as the Celebrant. Burial will follow in the St George Parish Cemetery.

Eileen Alice Barkley (nee Paul) passed away suddenly on Fri., Aug. 13, 2010 in her 86th year.
She was the beloved wife of the late Ralph Barkley. She was the loving mother of Jim (Judy) of Chesterville, Lois Whitteker (Paul Judson) of Johnstown, and the late Larry. She will be missed by her grandchildren, Shelley (Vince) Cousineau, Tracey (Geoff) Hare, Mark (Johanna) Barkley, David (Nichelle) Barkley, and Julie (Lee) Sinner; great-grandchildren Brooke, Brandon, Jessica, Britney, Tyler, and Chloe; and many nieces and nephews. She is survived by her sisters Isabel Hunter, Rita (Jack) Meunier, Pat (Reg) Hutt, Yvonne (Fred) Veley, Gail (Casey) VanGessel, and sister-in-law Dorothy Paul. She was predeceased by her parents, Napoleon and Mildred Paul (nee Price), sisters Clara, Rose, and Irene, and brothers Emmett and WIllis (Sonny).
Eileen enjoyed reading, playing Rummikub with her family and friends, and watching soaps.
Friends called at the Marsden and McLaughlin Funeral Home in Chesterville on Mon., Aug. 16. The funeral service was held in the funeral home on Tues., Aug. 17. Pastor Joachim Barkley-Probst of Dunbar Lutheran Church officiated, and Sandra Barkley-Probst sang Amazing Grace and The Lord Is My Shepherd. The pallbearers were Mark Barkley, Jean-Paul Meunier, Mike Verdon, Gordie Paul, Vince Cousineau, and Adrian Vingerhoeds. Interment followed at Maple Ridge Cemetery in Chesterville.

Eileen was born in High River, Alberta, Canada and passed away in Clovis, Ca. She was always very proud of her Canadian Heritage.
Eileen farmed in Easton and later in life was an assistant auditor controller for the Kings River Conservation District.
She was an active member of the First Church of Religious Science, the Daughters of the Nile, and the Order of the Eastern Star.
As an active camper and RV enthusiast, she traveled extensively in both Canada and the United States.
She was preceded in death by her brother Calvin and three husbands, Robert Clement, Donald Broyles and Harold Jones.
Eileen is survived by sons, Harvey Clement and his wife Debbie and Brian Clement and his wife Diane. She is also survived by grandchildren, Meredith Clement and her husband Geoff Parker, Benjamin Clement and his wife Amanda; great granddaughter Kaydence Clement; son-in-law Norman Jones and his wife Billie and sister-in-law Bertie Soper. She will be missed by all.
A Memorial Service will be held in the Claremont Senior Apartments, 2151 Sunnyside Ave., Clovis on Friday, December 27, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. in the west community room.

Elaine (Cordes) Case, 91, of 565 Vernon Street, Manchester, beloved wife of the late Charles Edson Case Sr., died on Wednesday (July 1, 2009) at an area convalescent home.
She was born April 24, 1918 in Springfield, MA, daughter of the late Edward T. and Pearl (Nelson) Cordes.
Mrs. Case had been 5th Grade School teacher at the Goodwin School in East Hartford prior to her retirement.
Elaine was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church in Manchester and served as President of the East Hartford Teachers Association. She had been active in the Girl Scouts and the 4H Club. She also loved to travel and go camping with her husband.
Mrs. Case is survived by her son Charles Edson Case Jr. of Grovetown, GA, two daughters and sons-in-law, Beverly and Charles Davis of Fairfax Station, VA, and Marilyn and Robert Baseler of Ledyard; six grandchildren, Wendy Warnock Healey, Andrew David Warnock, Anne M. Baseler, Richard Edson Baseler, Jeanne Baseler Connolly, and Charles Edson Case III; six great-grandchildren, Daniel, Fallon, and Jack Connolly; Emily and Sarah Baseler; and Alexander Warnock. She was predeceased by a son, David Nelson Case.

Elaine passed away after a short battle with cancer on January 5, 2018 surrounded by family who loved her.
Elaine was born in Williamsburg, Ontario and is predeceased by parents Willis and Clara Barkley, brothers Roy (Emily), Ray (Sylvia), Dwayne (Dawn), Gordon, Elery and survived by siblings Lee, Karl, Catherine Dennison (Lorne), Betty Henderson (Tommy), Muriel Yalden (Bert) and many nieces and nephews.
She is survived by her loving husband of 45 years Don, Children Barbara, Robert, Heather (Troy), Luc (Erica), and 2 very special grandchildren which she loved dearly; Paige and Logan.

ELDRIDGE, Iowa ? Graveside services for Mildred C. Nantz, 96, of Eldridge, Iowa, will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, August 11, 2011, at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery mausoleum. There will be no visitation prior to services. Mrs. Nantz passed away on Monday, August 8, 2011, at Eagle Point Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Clinton, Iowa. Cunnick-Collins Mortuary assisted the family with arrangements.
Mildred Carolyn Pennock was born in Davenport on September 27, 1914, the daughter of Bracey and Hazel (Edwards) Pennock. On January 20, 1937, she married Robert Nantz in Waterloo, Iowa. During World War II, she worked for Petersen Harned Von Maur darning nylon stockings. Mrs. Nantz was a Mother Advisor of the Rainbow Girls and a member of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed crocheting and knitting.
She is survived by two daughters, Carolyn (Stanley) Johannsen of Clinton, Iowa, and Barbara Nantz of DeWitt, Iowa; a son, James (Karen) Nantz of Champaign, Ill.; three grandchildren, Sara (Ron) Darling of Clinton, Iowa, Timothy Johannsen of Clinton, Iowa, and Christopher (Tammie) Johannsen of Cordova, Ill.; two nephews; six great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Eleanor (Brown) Conary 1917 - 2015 Norwich - Eleanor (Brown) Conary, 97, passed away September 24, 2015 at the William W. Backus Hospital. She was born October 26, 1917 in Bogota, New Jersey, the daughter of the late Howard and Elsie (Mattjetscheck) Brown, and moved to Norwich with her family as a very young girl. She was a 1939 graduate of Connecticut College. She was married to the late William C. Harding and Wilfred G. Conary. Eleanor was an avid and self-taught genealogist with a keen interest in historic research and preservation of 18th-century New England. She is survived by her sons William Harding Jr. and wife Cindy, Thomas Harding and wife Joan Nadel; daughters Judith E. Hamblen and husband Richard Wraight, Carol H. Kelleher and husband Michael, and Linda Jean Harding Warriner. She was predeceased by her daughter Cynthia J. Fogle. She is also survived by her grandchildren Bethany, Molly, Norah, Nell, Billy and Jay, and by her two great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husbands, she was predeceased by her brother Richard H. Brown. A memorial service will be held October 6, 2015 at the Park Congregational Church in Norwich at 11:00 am. Eleanor L. Davis 1919 - 2009 BENNINGTON Eleanor L. Davis, 89, a lifelong resident of Wilmington passed away peacefully May 10, 2009, at the Village at Fillmore Pond. Born in Wilmington on June 30, 1919, the daughter of Harry and Bertha Adams Cutting, she received her education from Wilmington schools, graduating from Wilmington High School, class of 1937. Eleanor worked for many years as a dental assistant for Dr. Hay and Dr. Haught and then did bookkeeping for her husband's business, Philip Davis and Son, for many years. Eleanor was a member and very active in the Wilmington Congregational Church. She was a member of the Wilmington Historical Society and one of the last members of the Higley Hill Homemakers. Eleanor enjoyed golf, walking and flowers. In her earlier years, she liked to travel and square dance. She enjoyed working on crossword puzzles and cherished times spent with her family. Her husband, Philip Davis, whom she married Aug. 20, 1944, in Wilmington, died Sept. 5, 2001. Eleanor leaves her son, Alan Davis and his wife, Lynn, of Wilmington; her daughter, Ann Stone and her husband, Robert, of Wilmington and Florida, her grandchildren, Jeffrey and Duane Stone and Kimberly Laird, and her great-grandchildren, Daniel, Annika and Ava Stone. She was predeceased by her grandson, Eric Davis who died in 2003, and by her sister, Marguerite Evans. FUNERAL NOTICE: A celebration of the life of Eleanor L. Davis will be Friday, May 15, 2009, at 1 p.m. at the Wilmington Congregational Church. Interment will follow in the family lot in Cutting, Intervale Cemetery. There will be no visiting hours. Eleanor M. "Ellie" Gillespie, 76, of Battle Creek died peacefully and went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday morning, May 2, 2012 at the Lifespan Good Samaritan Hospice Residence. She was born in Battle Creek on July 14, 1935 the daughter of Edna M. and Myron H. (Wooden) Simpson and graduated from the W.K. Kellogg Consolidated High School with the Class of 1953. Ellie retired from the Kellogg Company in 1989 after more than 20 years of faithful service. Ellie married Duane P. Gillespie at the First United Methodist Church of Hickory Corners on July 10, 1954. She is survived by her loving husband of more than 57 years, Duane; her son, Ed (Teresa) Gillespie of Battle Creek; 2 grandsons, Bill Gillespie of Battle Creek, Nik Gillespie of Tennessee; and her 2 brothers, Bob (Debbie) Simpson and Bill (Diane) Simpson. Ellie faithfully attended the Hickory Corners Bible Church. She enjoyed wintering in Florida, trips to Las Vegas, boating, fishing, baking, crafts and sewing. Ellie loved her family and truly enjoyed spending time with her family, but most especially her grandsons, Bill and Nik. The family would like to say a special "Thank You" to Pat Smith and to all the staff and volunteers at the Lifespan Good Samaritan Hospice Residence for their extraordinary compassion and loving care. At the request of the family, they will receive friends 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Friday, May 4, 2012 at the Farley-Estes & Dowdle Richland Chapel 9170 East D. Ave. (M-89), Richland. Eleanor Mae King, the daughter of Elmer and Stella (Norland) Frink, was born November 13, 1916 in Armstrong, Iowa. Her childhood years were spent in Emmetsburg, where she received her education, graduating from Emmetsburg High School.
Eleanor married Russell Braley and to this union was born one son, Craig. The couple later divorced.
She married Harold Stoddard on October 15, 1964 in Nashua, IA. Throughout most of her adult life, she lived in Spencer, Iowa, where she worked as an office manager for Drs. Frink and Schlichtemeier from 1952 until her retirement in 1980.
Harold passed away in 1978.
She married Darrell King in 1979 and throughout their retired life, they enjoyed traveling, golfing and fishing.
Eleanor was a past member of Bethany Lutheran Church and also attended the First Congregational Church in Spencer, where she was active with the church circle. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star for many years.
Eleanor passed away at the Spencer Hospital on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at the age of 98.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her two husbands and one brother, Dr. Lyle Frink.
Left to cherish her memory are one son, Craig Braley and his wife, Deirdre of Sugar Land, TX; two grandchildren; one brother, Gary Frink of Emmetsburg, IA; one stepdaughter, Gloria Tingle of Spencer; one stepson, Michael Stoddard and his wife, Ruth of Bloomington, MN; many step-grandchildren; other relatives and friends. | Frink, Eleanor Mae (I23110)

Eleanor Mahan Tobin Wife of the late Dr. John E. Tobin, Jr., died peacefully at home on March 21, 2007. Eleanor, the daughter of Dr. Eugene and Alma Meherin Mahan, was a native and life-long resident of San Francisco. She will be missed by her children, Michael (Annie) Tobin, Eleanor (Jerome) Raggett, Cathleen (Thomas) Miller, Mark (Carol) Tobin, Jean (Edward) Villalva, Ann (David) McInnes, Sheila (Owen) McKannay and Lisa Tobin; her 22 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Eleanor is survived by her sisters, Mavis Mahan Cain of San Rafael, Jean Mahan (Nelson C. Sr.) Barry of Larkspur; and 12 nieces and nephews. Born in 1918, Eleanor attended the Convent of the Sacred Heart in San Francisco and graduated from UC Berkeley. She was dedicated to her husband, her family and her community. Eleanor particularly enjoyed her associations with her Pi Phi sisters and her time golfing and playing bridge at the Presidio Golf Club. Friends and relatives are invited to the Funeral Mass at St. Dominic's Church, Bush and Steiner Streets, on March 27th at 11 AM.
