1767 Elizabeth was born on Grand Avenue in Louisville, Kentucky, in 1901. The entire Hughs family got on a train around 1905 and moved to California. Before her marriage to Arch she was a single Mother who raised her 4 children by working 2 full time jobs plus made artificial flowers that her kids sold door to door. That eventually turned in to a job with the studios because her flowers and plants were so realistic, they could decorate the sets and wouldn't melt under the lights. This was before they could use air conditioning due to the noise. She worked on the sets of most of the big stars of her day. She was a business partner in a flower shop on Sunset Blvd with Lucille Ball's mother , Desiree. She was a good and decent woman, hard working and beloved by all who knew her. My "Good Grandma" I still miss you so much. She died at the age of 49 in Glendale, California of cancer. Hughs, Elizabeth Mae (I27904)

1769 ELLA V. HAGMAN (nee LAMB) Peacefully on Sunday, April 15, 2001 at the Central Park Lodge in Winnipeg, Manitoba, at the age of 88 years - 10 days before her 89th birthday (April 25). Survived by her children, son Earl and daughter Sharon, six grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren; son Earl (Patricia) their four children, Jeff, Dean, Erik and Brett and their life partners, Lori and Eugene; daughter Sharon and her life partner Jean, their two children Mark (Charmaine) from Alberta and Kim Allison (Wes) from Iowa; five great-grandchildren, Justin, Tyler, Zachari, Alex, and Taylor. Auntie Ella will be fondly missed by Wilmet, Alecia, Doreen, and longtime friends and family too numerous to mention. Ella V. had many accomplishments in this lifetime on earth. She was a graduate of the Toronto Conservatory of Music, and loved to play music for all the sing-alongs with family and friends. She and her husband Ernie built and created Hagmans Handy Hardware store in St. Vital - Ella V. with her administrative side and Ernie using his unique salesmanship. In their home in St. Vital, Ella V. and Ernie spent many mornings admiring the multitude of birds that they so both loved to watch, chronolog and nurture in their back yard. Ella V. devoted her energy to volunteer with EMO, March of Dimes and the Red Cross. She also volunteered her time at the local community club organizations in the 50s and 60s. Family and friends will always remember the wonderful times at the Winnipeg Beach cottage, with the good laughs and fun horseshoe games. When Ella V. and Ernie retired in the late 60s they moved to the country in Oakbank, Manitoba. There they created a new beginning for themselves with building a home, landscaping and gardening. And of course their bird watching. One of Ella Vs hobbies was to write and compile humourous sayings of famous and the not so famous (anon.). She went on to create her "BinSaid" books, a collection of six in all, covering subject matter on life, love, laughter, et al. Ella V. became very interested in Astrology in her mid fifties and as many family and friends know she became quite proficient at that particular hobby. It became a passion for her to help others and she was always eager to create astrological information for those who requested (and some who did not). The family would like to say a deep thank you to her care givers on the 5th floor at Central Park Lodge, for making Ella V. so comfortable and well looked after as her years progressed. A special celebration of life "Ella Vs Party" will be held on the 29th of April, 2001 at the Place Louis Riel Hotel, 190 Smith Street, Winnipeg, in the Keystone Room (main floor) from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. WOJCIKS FUNERAL CHAPEL & CREMATORIUM Lamb, Ella Viola Esther (I02296)

1770 Ellen Rae Dean, 67, passed away from Alzheimer?s disease Sept. 4, 2015.
With this final chapter, she is reunited with her parents and other loved ones who have gone before her.
The world has lost a beautiful, caring human being. She was truly an angel on earth to all who knew her. She loved all people; but, had a very tender heart for the elderly and for children. She also dearly loved animals?especially dogs?and will be reunited with her beloved black lab, Casey.
Her most precious possession, however, was her family. She would do anything, at any time, to help someone in need.
You taught us to laugh? even when we wanted to cry. You taught us to be strong? although, at times, it seemed difficult?even impossible?to go forward. You showed us that there is hope in desperation, happiness in sorrow, and serenity in the midst of turmoil. You taught us that there is good in everything. Most importantly, you taught us to love? truly and unconditionally without fear and without boundaries. You were one of those rare individuals who made everyone who was fortunate enough to know you better for having known you.
You will be dearly missed by all who loved you. You took with you a piece of all of our hearts; but, left us with a lifetime of loving memories. There are not words to thank you enough for always, somehow, giving more than you could give. Though we mourn your loss, we can rejoice in knowing that you are, finally, where you deserve to be? spending eternity with Jesus and with the loved ones who went before you. We will carry with us your loving memory as long as we are here on earth; and we are blessed knowing that, one day, we will see you again in heaven.
Dear God, thank you for letting us enjoy her here on Earth. Please, take her in Your arms and give her peace.
Ellen is survived by her husband of 48 years, Wayne; sons, Michael (Theresa) and Mark (Kimberly); grandchildren, Matthew (Heather), Spencer, Ashley, Lucas, Macee, Amanda, Luke, Justin, Molly, Anna and Leah; great-grandchildren, A.J. and Jordan; sisters, Ruthann and Diann; mother-in-law, Janet; brothers-in-law, Gordon (Carol), David and Leslie; and sisters-in-law, Delores and Barbara.
Cremation has taken place. There will be no services. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer?s Foundation.
Cox Funeral Home handled arrangements.
