Lt. Drexel D. Sparks, 22, co-pilot of an Eighth air force Flying Fortress, who went overseas from Lincoln Army Air Field Jan. 23, 1945, has been reported by the war department as missing over the North sea since May 31. Word was received by his wife, Marilyn Sparks, formerly of Raymond, Neb., now living with Mrs. A. M. Sparks in McMinnville, Ore.
The report from the war department came 11 weeks after notice that Lieutenant Sparks' brother, Lt. Alvis Sparks, had been killed in a B- 29 crash after a bombing raid on Japan. Lt. Drexel Sparks entered the service in February, 1943.
