  • Notes
    • Katherin J. HOLDREN (Peterson) Kay passed away peacefully at home on the morning of November 9th. Born in Nogales, AZ on June 24th, 1927, Kay and her family spent time in Boulder, Colorado before settling in Seattle. She graduated from Ballard High School and attended the University of Washington while working at the Boeing Company during the second World War. Kay met her husband of 58 years, Lee, a Navy pilot, on a blind date to the Milwaukee Ski Bowl. Kay loved being a Navy wife. Lee's long deployments overseas, and moving the family every few years were challenges she embraced. In 1972 they retired to Bellevue, Washington. Kay loved skiing, from the family cabin at Snoqualmie Pass to her annual trips to Blackcomb. Kay also had a real passion for traveling. She made many trips to Europe and Hawaii, but also went to China and on African safaris. Back at home Kay enjoyed watercolor painting with the Evergreen Artists Group, Cascade Ladies Golf, playing bridge, and attending the Seattle Opera. Kay was preceded in death by Lee and her oldest son Bruce. She will be missed by her sons Kevin (Kirkland, WA), Eric (Phoenix, AZ), daughters-in-law Judy and Dianne, grandchildren Brian, Stacy, Michael, Jilaine, David, Travis and Daniel. She will also be missed by Constance Bradford, Larry and Myrtis Holdren, Kathy Baier, and nephews and nieces. A memorial service will be held on Monday, November 28th at 1:15pm at Tahoma National Cemetery.
