    • Juanita Jean (Yaworski) Chappell, 71, of Salem, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, July 4, 2016, surrounded by her family.
      Juanita was born in New London, on Sept. 29, 1944, daughter of the late John and Opal (Hills) Yaworski. She married Melvin Chappell on Nov. 4, 1961.
      Juanita lived her entire life in Salem as a homemaker, raising her four children. She worked for many years as a waitress, one of her favorite past times was attending all the local fairs with her husband, Melvin "Cap", pulling their prize winning oxen teams, where Juanita made lifelong friendships.
      Juanita is survived by her husband, Melvin; her daughters, Opal and Hope (Morgrage); her son, Kenneth; 10 grandchildren, two great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews and other extended family.
      She was predeceased by her son, Kevin; her brothers, Walter and Robert; and her sisters, Betty Lee Laudone and June Taylor; and her great-grandson, Jace.
      A private funeral will be held at the convenience of the family. A celebration of Juanita's life will be held at a later date.
