- Louise C. (Coleman) Nichols, 73, of Hickory Road, Marlborough, beloved wife of Frederick A. Nichols, Jr., died Monday (May 24, 2004) at Gaylord Hospital, Wallingford. Born May 4, 1931 in Norwood, RI, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Esther (Skonberg) Coleman. She had been a lifelong resident of Marlborough and a lifelong member of the Marlborough Congregational Church. She was a retired Insurance Advisor for Pratt & Whitney Aircraft where she worked for more than 34 years. She was a member of the Marlborough Volunteer Fire Dept. Women's Auxiliary, a member of the American Legion Post 197 of Marlborough Women's Auxiliary. She was an avid camper and was a member of the Nutmeg Winnebago Club of Connecticut. Besides her husband, she is survived by three sons, Frederick A. Nichols III of Fredericksburg, VA, Brian C. Nichols of Marlborough and Kevin E. Nichols of Moodus; a daughter, Karen N. Cole of Marlborough; a brother, Frederick E. Coleman III of Niceville, FL; a sister, Barbara C. Roberts of Marlborough; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held Friday, 1 p.m. in the Marlborough Congregational Church, 35 South Main St., Marlborough. Burial will follow in the family plot in Marlborough Cemetery. Friends may call at the Spencer Funeral Home, 112 Main Street, East Hampton on Thursday from 5-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Roy B. Pettengill Ambulance Assoc.
