LeRoy E. Banning, 87, of Bradway Road, Stafford Springs, died Tuesday, July 5, 2005, at home. He was the widower of the late Mildred M. (Yurczak) Banning, who died on December 20, 1993.
LeRoy was born in Stafford Springs, the son of the late Frank and Nellie (Marsdale) Banning. He was a retired mill wright at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft in East Hartford, and a member of St. Edward Parish.
LeRoy is survived by 2 sons, David L. Banning of Enfield, D. Richard Banning of Mena, Ark.; 2 daughters, Joyce Banning Dix of Holland, Mass., Sharon Banning Greika of Stafford Springs; 7 grandchildren, Natalie Dix, Kristie Katkavich, Luke Greika, Hillary Greika, Sean Banning, Stacy Banning, Roseanne Petitto; 7 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Marsha Mather of Vermont, Grace Baker of California; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A funeral will be held Thursday, July 7, 2005, with a procession forming at 9 a.m. at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main Street, Stafford Springs, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Edward Church, High Street, Stafford Springs. Burial will follow in St. Edward Cemetery, Stafford Springs.
