- Elizabeth Warner Davidsen,wife of Dr. Donald Davidsen, of 68 Greenwood Street, died at home on Sunday (Aug. 8, 2004) after a short illness.
Her husband, Donald Davidsen,was a member of the state assembly and Commissioner of Agriculture in the Pataki administration. She was his constant companion at political events.She served as an unpaid volunteer in her husband's assembly office as well as in the legal division of the NYS Department of Agriculture and Markets.
Born in Norwich, Conn.,raised in Baldwinsville, she received her B.S. from Cornell University and her masters degree from Syracuse University. She was a member of TRI-DELTA sorority. She taught several years in the Trumansburg school district, and was an active member and deacon of the First Presbyterian Church of Canisteo. She was the daughter of Mabel Titus Warner and Chester Warner.She was a descendent of Col. Seth Warner, cousin to Ethan allen, both of the Revolutionary War Green Mountain Boys.She had two brothers, Chester Jr., who died in Burma in World War ll; and Richard, who is also deceased.
She is survived by her husband Dr. Donald Davidsen of Canisteo; three children, Dr. Guy Hammond of Bath, Barbara Hammond of Westbury, Long Island, and Elizabeth Hammond Blaise of Rumemede, N.J.; her three stepchildren, Karen Davidsen Polechetti of Lockport,Kristine Davidsen Dineen of Canisteo and Richard Davidsen of Everett,Wash. There are 14 grandchildren.
Friends may call on Tuesday,Aug. 10, and Wednesday, Aug. 11, from 7-9PM, at the BROWN & POWERS FUNERAL HOME 6 Spruce Street in Canisteo. A funeral service will be held at the First Presbyterian Church of Canisteo on Thursday, Aug.12, 2004 at 10 AM. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
