Betty Labron in her 109th year passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family at Park Lane Terrace, Paris, ON. Oct 3 2014. Betty was born Sept 24 1906 in Darling Twp. in Lanark Co.
Beloved wife to the late William `Bill` Labron (1991); loved mother of Ken Labron (the late Evelyn-2002) of Sylvan Lake Alberta, Gord (Janice) Labron of Paris and Lynda (Dean) Sayles, of Paris; and mother-in law to Norma Labron of Paris
Survived by 11 grandchildren; Bill (Lynn) Labron, Rob (Heidi) Labron, the late Scott (2004) (Brenda) Labron, Jayne (Darren) Novak, Abby-Lynn (Jay) Williamson, Tim (Theresa) Labron, Brian (Tracy) Labron, Stacey (Darryl) Dempsey, Karen (Steve) Madden, Louise (Russell) Heyming, Nancy Sayles, Dean Jr. (Erin) Sayles and 24 great-grandchildren. Sadly missed my numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her sons; Glen (2013) and Allan (2003); her parents, Alexander McKay (1918) and Mary (Rintoul) McKay (1966) and all her siblings; Jean(Arthur) Creighton (1988), James(Maggie) McKay (1991), Jessie(George) Saunders (1924), Agnus (Earl) Manson (1990), Margaret(Edgar) Lee (2001), Edith(Jack) Stratton (1997), Alvin(Jean) McKay(1983), Leonard (Esther) McKay(1981).
In the early 1930?s Betty moved from Almonte, ON to Paris and worked in the "finishing room" in Penmans. Betty was a long time member of St Paul's United Church when in earlier years she enjoyed quilting and taught Sunday School. Betty attributed her long life to a close knit, loving relationship with her parents and siblings; her faith in God; fresh air; being a conscientious hard worker; the love of her family and drinking Green Tea. We will miss her radiant smile and her positive attitude. She was a very special lady who showed unconditional love and devotion to her whole family. She was truly an inspiration to all of us. Our precious memories will be treasured forever.
A very SPECIAL THANK YOU to Dr Williams and all the staff at Park Lane Terrace in Paris for the excellent care Betty received while she was a resident.
Arrangements have been made by Wm. Kipp Funeral Home, 184 Grand River St. N. Paris where a Private family service was held on Monday Oct 6 2014 with Interment Paris Cemetery.
