    • BANNING, Charles F., Zilwaukee, Michigan. Be loved father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at the Cartwright Hospice Residence. Age 85 years. Son of the late Ernest and Anna (Brown) Banning, Charles was born July 26, 1925 in Zilwaukee, Michigan. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He married, the love of his life, Joan M. Schmidt on November 23, 1946. She predeceased him June 21, 2006. He was employed as an electrician for General Motors and retired from Saginaw Metal Castings. Charles was a member of Faith Ev. Lutheran Church. Surviving are three sons, one daughter and their spouses, Charles J. and Lou Ann Banning, Tawas City; Todd F. and Maureen Banning, Zilwaukee; Suzanne and Dennis Kross, Saginaw; Zenn A. and Cheryl Banning, Saginaw; nine grandchildren, Melissa (Kevin) Steen, Amanda (Joe) Podojak, Todd A. (Kacey) Banning, Jennifer J. Banning and her friend Scott Brocht, Jason (Lisa) Kross, Brian (Kristina) Kross and Dr. Kevin Kross and his fiancée Dr. Brittany Mailloux, Devinn and Calvin Banning; nine great-grandchildren. Funeral Service will take place 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 12, 2010 at Faith Ev. Lutheran Church, 4432 Mackinaw Rd. Rev. Michael Hahn will officiate with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd. (between Shattuck and McCarty) where the family will be present on Thursday from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Friday at Faith Ev. Lutheran Church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Faith Ev. Lutheran Church.
