    • Harley served as a Boatswain's Mate Second Class, U.S.S. Bunker Hill (CV-17), U.S. Navy during World War II.
      Harley was "Killed In Action" when the Bunker Hill was struck and severely damaged by two Japanese kamikaze planes during the war. He was awarded the Purple Heart.
