He is preceded in death by his parents, Nay Walden and Ethel Mattie (Mathews) Smith; brother, Nay Oren Smith; sister, Verna Taylor.
He is survived by his wife, Martha Banning Smith of Seguin; son, Ken Smith of Santa Anna; daughter, Sandra Smith of Seguin; brothers, Walter Smith of Pineland, Charles Ray Smith of Shelbyville; sisters, Dovie Renfroe of San Augustine, Mildred Scarborough of Lumberton, Lizzie Mae Braniff of San Antonio, Loretta Richards of San Augustine; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2013 at the Faith Christian Center in Dilley, Texas from 9am to service time. There will be no visitation at the Hurley Funeral Home in Pearsall prior to service. Funeral service will be held at 10am Saturday, September 14, 2013 at the Faith Christian Center with interment to follow in the Dilley Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Justin Smith, Justin Woodward, Rod Smith, Alex Smith, Jacob Pritchard, and Mason Smith. Honorary pallbearer will be Connor Morgan.
