    • Judson E. ?Pops? Turney Sr. of East Hampton passed away on Feb. 9th at his home with family at his side. Born Feb. 23, 1931 in Mystic, CT, he was the son of the late Judson A. and Lucy (Everitt) Turney. He was a machine operator at Wire Mold Co. in West Hartford when he retired after 44 years. He was a member of the Coventry Vol. Fire Assoc., The East Hampton Vol. Fire Dept. and Fire Police until he retired as a senior member. He loved to cruise with his 1947 Ford champion fire truck to car shows which he won many trophies with. He is survived by his two sisters, his wife of 61 ½ years Elizabeth Ann (Stebbins) Turney, two sons, three daughters, ten grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. His personality drew people to him and made him friends where ever he went. Pops will be sadly missed by all. Friends may call at the Spencer Funeral Home, 112 main St. East Hampton, CT on Friday Feb. 12th from 5-7 pm. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 7 pm. Burial will be in Lakeview cemetery in the spring. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to East Hampton Fire Dept.
