      NOLAND, Mathew Roy – A resident of Gore Bay, passed away at his residence on Monday, April 12, 1991 at the age of 71 years. He was born in Mills Township, son of the late Joseph Arthur and Agnes Christina (Davis) Noland and had lived in Mills Township all his life until retiring to Gore Bay in 1979. Roy and Norma had farmed in Mills Township all their married life. Roy was in the trucking and backhoe business. Beloved husband of the former Norma Best, and loving father of Ronald and daughter-in-law Joane of Mills and lovingly remembered by grandchildren Malcolm and Cassandra. Dear brother of Ethel and brother-in-law William Ruttan of Peterborough, Rhoda and brother-in-law Russell Carson, Bernice and brother-in-law Dennis Carson all of Thornloe; Herb and sister-in-law Gladys of Gore Bay, Harry and sister-in-law Eunice and Albert and sister-in-law Lenna all of Mills Township. Also surviving are a number of nieces and nephews. Predeceased by sisters Stella and Ruth and brother Lyle. Visitors were received at the Turner Funeral Home on Tuesday, from 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service was conducted at the Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 24 at 11 am with Mr. Archie Carson officiating. Interment in Mills Cemetery. In remembrance donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
