- Ronald E. Onofrio, age 71, passed away peacefully on Oct. 6 in Peace River Medical Center in Florida. He was born in New Haven on March 10, 1943, to the late Stephen R. and Dorothy Onofrio. He was the beloved husband of Deborah Onofrio.
He is also survived by sons Scott Onofrio and Nicholas Onofrio of Florida; daughter Kristen Hunt of Guilford; and three grandchildren, Erin, Shannon, and Sarah Hunt. He leaves his brother Richard (Lita) Onofrio of Killingworth, sisters Dorothy Hall of Hamden and Linda (Guy) Bimonte of North Haven, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and brother Stephen R. (Bob) Onofrio.
A Memorial Celebration of his life will be held Oct. 26 at 1 p.m. at the Community Center in Jensen?s Beechwood Community on Swan Lake Trail in Killingworth.
