Paul Richard Budney, 55, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 14, 2017, after a brave fight with pancreatic cancer, with his mother and father by his side. He was born August 17, 1961, to Richard and Dolores Budney. He attended Valley Regional High School in Deep River and Eastern Connecticut State College in Willimantic, and earned a degree in Business Administration. He was a district sales manager for Crown Uniforms and Linens in South Windsor and Milford. He was a lifetime athlete beginning with Tri-town Football and Little League baseball, continued through to high school, college and beyond. He participated in several fundraising golf tournaments. He also played basketball on the Wazy Classic Basketball Team and the Middlesex Over 40 Softball Team. He was a member of the Swede Club in Deep River. He leaves behind his parents; his sister, Diane Belval, and her husband, Stephen; his niece, Megan Giamei; his uncle, Vodge Budney, and his wife, Betty; his aunt, Lorraine Flanagan, and many cousins. He also leaves behind his girlfriend, Doreen Bartkowski, and her daughter, Ally. He had an abundance of loyal friends. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 23, 2017, at the Robinson, Wright & Weymer Funeral Home, 34 Main Street, in Centerbrook, from 5:00PM to 7:00PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, March 24, 2017, at 10:30AM, at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 14 Prospect Street, in Essex. Inurnment will follow in the Centerbrook Cemetery in Centerbrook. Memorial contributions can be made in Paul's name to the Valley Shore Animal Welfare League, 647 Horsehill Road, Westbrook, CT. 06498.

Richard F. ?Stick", ?Dick?, Budney, age 87, of Ivoryton, passed away on April 23, 2018 at Hartford Hospital with his loving wife Dolores by his side. He was born in Middletown on November 5, 1930 the son of the late Frank and Jennie (Gustoski) Budney. He leaves behind his wife of 60 years Dolores (Banning) Budney, his daughter Diane Belval and her husband Stephen, and granddaughter Megan Giamei. He was predeceased by his son Paul R. Budney on March 14, 2017. He also leaves behind his brother, Walter R. Budney of Ivoryton and his sister, Lorraine B. Flanagan of Melbourne Beach, FL and several nieces and nephews. Dick was a graduate of Pratt High School in Essex and served with the United States Army during the Occupation in Japan. He was a veteran of both the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He retired from the US Army, a National Guard Technician, and a Deputy Sheriff of the Middlesex Court. He was a Past Commander and Life Member of the Essex Veterans of Foreign Wars, a Life Member of the Knights of Columbus in Old Saybrook, the Polish Falcons of America, and the Interstate Police Officers Assoc. He was also a Past President and member of the Essex Lions Club, member of Essex Veterans Memorial Hall and a communicant of Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Essex. Visitation will be held at the Robinson, Wright & Weymer Funeral Home, 34 Main Street in Centerbrook on Monday, April 30, 2018 from 5:00PM to 7:00PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at 11:00AM at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 14 Prospect Street in Essex. Burial with the rendering of Full Military Honors will follow in the Centerbrook Cemetery, Westbrook Road, in Centerbrook. Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be made in Dick?s name to the Essex Lions Club Diabetes Fund, PO Box 525, Essex, CT 06426.

BANNING, Everett William Sr. 81, of Melody Lane, Ivoryton died Saturday February 4. Husband of Hazel Dee Banning. He was born April 23, 1902, in Westbrook, son of the late William and Ida Platt Banning, and was a resident of Ivoryton most of his life. He was a retired plumbing and heating contractor. He was a chartered member of the Westbrook Lodge of Elks #1784.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter Mrs. Richard (Delores) Budney of Ivoryton; a brother, Fred Banning if Ivoryton; two sisters, Mrs. Nellie Riggio and Mrs. Ida Duffy, both of Ivoryton; four grandchildren; a great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Everett Banning Jr.
The funeral will be Wednesday, 11 A.M. at the Robinson, Wright and Weymer Funeral Home, 34 Main Street, Centerbrook. Burial will be in Centerbrook Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home today 7 to 9 P.M. The Elks Service will be today at 7:30 P.M. Everett married Hazel Mae Dee. Hazel was born on 22 Apr 1914 in Westbrook, Connecticut, USA; died on 19 Nov 2000 in Middletown, Connecticut, USA; was buried in Centerbrook Cemetery, Essex, Middlesex County, Connecticut, USA. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

Hazel Mae (Dee) Banning, of Melody Lane, Ivoryton, died Sunday at Middlesex Hospital in Middletown. She was 86.
Born in Westbrook, she lived in Ivoryton most of her life. She was a member of the Deep River Senior Club, and of the Essex Democratic Women's Club, serving as treasurer.
She is survived by her daughter, Delores Budney of Ivoryton; her brother, Walter Dee of Kensington; three sisters, Patricia Monte of Old Saybrook, Emma Mason of Westbrook and Mary Jane Neri of New Jersey; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her husband, Everett W. Banning Sr., died previously.
There are no calling hours. The funeral and burial will be private. Donations may be made to Essex Lion Charities, P.O. Box 525, Essex, CT 06426. The Robinson, Wright and Weymer Funeral Home, 34 Main St., Centerbrook, is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Ida Platt Banning, 94, of Chestnut Street, Ivoryton, widow of William Otis Banning, died Tuesday in Meadowbrook Convalescent Home in Middetown after a long illness. Born in Westbrook, she lived in Ivoryton the last 73 years. She was a member of the Westbrook Congregational Church.
She leaves two sons; Everett Banning and Fred Banning, both of Ivoryton; and two daughters, Mrs. Nellie Riggio and Mrs. Harold Duffy, both of Ivoryton; seven grandchildren. A private funeral will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in the Cypress Cemetery, Westbrook. There are no calling hours. Robinson and Wright Funeral Home, Main Street, Centerbrook, is making the arrangements.
