  1. 1.  Glenn Charles DahlkeGlenn Charles Dahlke was born on 10 May 1951 in Wisconsin, USA (son of Gerald Otis Dahlke and Daphne Harding); died on 8 Dec 2018 in Lyme, Connecticut, USA.

    Notes:

Lyme - On Saturday, Dec. 8, 2018, Glenn Charles Dahlke, known to all as "Chip," passed away at his home in Lyme at the age of 67.
A native of Wisconsin, Chip grew up in Wethersfield and graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University with a degree in politics and economics. He spent time traveling, until settling back in Hartford where he worked at Cigna. In the 1980s, he lived in both Columbia and Mansfield Center, where he started a family. In 1990, he began a career in wealth management with his father, Gerald Dahlke, forming Dahlke & Associates. Chip was the proud steward of Ashlawn Farm in Lyme, a property which has remained in his family for over a hundred years. He accomplished his dream of bringing the 120-acre farm back to life, after taking it over from his uncle, Sam Harding. Ashlawn was revived with an extremely popular farmer's market, a coffee shop, a recording studio, as a venue for local events and its return to a place where community and family alike could enjoy its seemingly endless pastures. Chip personally saw to the fact that the farm was never a quiet or dull corner of Lyme.
Chip is survived by his mother, Daphne Dahlke of Mystic; and two siblings, Tom Dahlke of Brunswick, Maine and Diane Dahlke who resides in Cumberland, Maine with her husband, Dale Denno. Chip is predeceased by his father, Gerald Dahlke. He leaves behind five children, Gillian Dahlke and her husband, Matt McNeil of Epping, N.H., Travis Dahlke of Middletown, Alida Dahlke of Lyme, Charles Dahlke of Lyme, and James Dahlke of Lyme. He leaves behind one grandchild, Emery Snow Daphne McNeil of Epping, N.H.
Chip was a great supporter of the Lyme community and various civic organizations, from the Lyme Land Trust to Four Mile River Farm. He always gave when asked, to artists and farmer alike. In addition to being an avid skier, he loved fresh and saltwater fishing as well as working outdoors. In his business, Chip excelled, demonstrating a masterful approach to investing. Above all else, he was known for his wit and indiscernible 'Chipness' that struck a certain balance between candor and his ability to find humour in any situation. He always loved a good debate for the sheer enjoyment of stirring the pot. Ultimately, Chip measured his life by his children, who he lived to see embody his rationale, levity, and larger than life personality, often noting that they made it all worth it.
Close friends and family will gather at a yet to be announced time and place, to celebrate Chip's life.
Fulton-Theroux Funeral Home, Old Lyme is handling the arrangements.
