Father of Marion Sparkman (Dennis) of Niagara Falls, Shirley Yach (Robert) of Denby, Glen Foster (Anne) of Almonte and the late Keith Foster. Beloved grandfather to 5 grandchildren. Brother of Elmer Foster (Joyce) of Almonte. Predeceased by his sister Edna (Guy) Yuill and his brothers Boyd, Eric and Carl. Memorial service at graveside in Auld Kirk Cemetery, Almonte on Saturday, October 25, 2003 at 3:00 p.m. Donations to the Ontario Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated. Olive Foster (nee Bolger) of Arnprior and formerly of Almonte in her 94th year. Predeceased by her husband Melvin Foster from a previous marriage. Dear mother of Shirley (Robert) Yach of Griffith, Marion (Dyon) Bracken of Niagra Falls and Glen (Ann) of Almonte. Dear grandmother of Trevor, Chris, Terry and Julie. Predeceased by a grandson Brent. Great grandmother of Meadow, Willow and Jonathan. Dear sister of Howard Bolger of Almonte. Resting at The Boyce Funeral Home Ltd. Chapel, Visitation and Reception Centre 138 Daniel St N., Arnprior where friends may pay their respects on Tuesday, June 2, 2009 from 1-3 p.m. Service will be held in The Boyce Chapel at 3 p.m. Interment Auld Kirk Cemetery, Almonte. Ramsay Twp. Sun. Dec. 18, 1927, Jacob Price of Galbraith.
He was in his 79th year and was the son of the late Ira Price and Margaret Prettie and was born in Darling Twp. He was married to Esther Munroe of Darling, who predeceased him seven years ago. He leaves three sisters and one brother; Annie (Mrs. Albert Vardy) in Alberta; Margaret (Mrs. Foster) of Kingston; Maria of Picton; Alex. of Brancroft and Ira in Alberta. There are also his seven daughters and three sons; Maggie (Mrs. Rutherford) Unity SK; Lizzie (Mrs. Lambe) Winnipeg; Mary (Mrs. Thomas Sise) of McDonald's Corners; Marion (Mrs. Stewart Gunn) of Tatlock; Alice (Mrs. Milton McKay) and Jean (Mrs. Ernest Foste) of Clayton; Lila (Mrs. Alex Munro) of Almonte; Jacob and Ira of Saskatchewan; Thomas on the homestead at Clayton. Two children died in infancy and Esther died in Winnipeg in 1905; while Hugh died 14 years ago. Burial in Clayton Cemetery.

Esther (Munro) Price :1916

Mrs. Jacob Price, Sr., of Galbraith, mention of whose sudden death was made last week, was born on Sept. 9th, 1851. Mrs. Price's death was caused by heart failure. She was seemingly in good health until within a few hours of her death. Her maiden name was Esther Munro, and she was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Munro of Darling. In 1873 she was married to Mr. Jacob Price, and to them fourteen children were born, two of whom died in infancy, and Hugh A., died in Feb. 1914, and Mrs. Wm. Lyons (Esther) in Aug 1905. Those who are still living are: Mrs. Sandy Rutherford (Margaret Jane), Unity, Sask.; Mrs. Edmond R. Lambe (Elizabeth C.), Shoal Lake, Man.; Mrs. Thomas Fife (Mary), McDonald's Corners, Ont.; Mrs. Milton McKay (Alice L.), Middleville, Ont.; Mrs. Alex Munro (Delilah), Hall's Mills, Ont.; Mrs. Ernest Foster, (Jeanie), Galbraith, Ont.; Messrs: Jacob and Ira Price, Sonningdale, Sask.; Mr. Thomas Price, on the old home at Galbraith; Miss Marion Price at home. Rev. Mr. Currie, Baptist minister, from Lanark, preached, assisted by Rev. Mr. Merrilees. The flowers were a beautiful spray from the family. Mrs. Price was a member of the W.M.S., and was always a faithful attendant when possible, and was always ready to lend a helping hand in any good cause. She will be missed in that as well as in many other ways.
