Scott L. Erickson, 36, of Middletown, passed away unexpectedly, Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at his residence.
Scott was born in New Haven, May 15, 1979, a son of John W. Erickson Sr. of Wallingford and the late Nancy Staples Erickson. Scott was currently employed by RFS/XPL Logistics. Scott enjoyed small adventures; he would travel to lands to watch gladiators battle for prestigious prizes, and be transported to lands of battle and conflict to help win the wars. Not too many knew about his adventures, but the few that did had the esteemed opportunity and privilege to enjoy them with him.
In addition to his father, he is survived by his sister Tammy Hamelin and her husband Robert of South Meriden; his brother John W. Erickson Jr. and his wife Tiffany of Colorado; his four nephews John III, Malachi, Zachary and Samuel Erickson; and his four nieces Megan, Cassandra, Emma and Abby Erickson; his two aunts; and several cousins.
His family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main St. Ext., Saturday, November 21, from 8:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. A funeral service will be held in The Wallingford Funeral home at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery in West Haven. In lieu of flowers, gifts in memory of Scott may be sent to APS Foundation of America, Inc.

Marian Cunningham Staples, 94, formerly of Rimmon Road, North Haven, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 28, 2013 at the Colonial Health & Rehab, Plainfield. She was the wife of the late Arthur C. Staples. Marian was born in East Haven on February 15, 1919; daughter of the late James and Catherine Bloomfield Cunningham; was a member of Christ & The Epiphany Church of East Haven where she was a member of the choir; was a member of the Eastern Star; was an avid gardner; loved to sing; enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles, word search games and loved to read. Mother of Linda Carlson and her husband Warren Carlson, Jr. of Griswold, and the late Nancy Erickson. Grandmother of John (Tiffany) Erickson, Jr. of Colorado Springs, CO, Tammy (Robert) Hamelin of Meriden, Erica (Ron) Coutu of Griswold and Scott Erickson of Wallingford. Also survived by nine great-grandchildren, her son-in-law of John Erickson, Sr. of Wallingford and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Predeceased by her siblings Catherine Yale, James and George Cunningham, Eleanor Seymour, David and William Cunningham. Her funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue, Friday morning at 9:15. Services will be conducted in Christ & The Epiphany Church, East Haven at 10:00. Interment will follow in Beaverdale Memorial Park
