Following a lengthy illness, the death of Anthony A. Swalwell occurred at his home, 181 Klock avenue, at about 5.30 o'clock, Saturday afternoon, April 25, in his 80th year, Mr. Swalwell had been a resident of North Bay for 11 years coming from Restoule, Ontario.
Rev. G. O. Cox, Nipissing, will officiate at the funeral service at the family residence at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon, Interment will be at Terrace Lawn cemetery.
Born in the township of Alice, Mr. Swalwell married the former Susan Delilah Edwards there in 1872.
Besides his wife, Mr. Swalwell is survived by eight children, Mrs. Charles McConnell, Mrs. Joseph McConnell, Nipissing; Thomas Swalwell, Carr, On.; Mrs. Alma Boxall, Restoule; Mrs. F, Bruce, Matheson; Gertrude, Elizabeth and Walter, all of North Bay; also one brother, James, Tacoma, Wash.; and one sister, Sarah Swalwell, Everett, Wash.

Archibald Albert Metcalfe Munro
Clayton native Archibald Albert Metcalfe Monroe died in British Columbia April 8, 1989 at the age of 70.
He was born the son of the late Edward Munro and his late wife Lillian in Clayton. Although he was born in this area, Mr. Munro had lived in British Columbia for 40 years.
He is remembered by his wife Pearl, his daughter Sherry Mode and her husband Jim, his three brothers, Gordon of Toronto, Edward of Almonte and Willard of Smiths Falls and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his two sisters, Martha Craig and Nellie.
He was a longtime employee of Vancouver Plywoods and was also a member of Perfecttion Lodge No. 75 A.F. & A.M. A service of remembrance, with Rev. Harold McDonald officiating, took place April 13 in New Westminster, B.C. and was followed by cremation.

To the glory of God, Arlene, has been received to her eternal home in heaven where she is united with her husband, Alonzo Wood.
Surrounded by the love of her family, Arlene V. Wood, 92, a longtime resident of Leslie Road and Carey Cross Road, passed away Tuesday morning, November 13, 2018, at Canton-Potsdam Hospital.
Arlene was born June 26, 1926, in the Town of Stockholm, the daughter of the late Harley and Martha (Price) Steenberg and attended rural schools in Brasher.
On February 15, 1946, she married Alonzo C. Wood at the Waddington First United Methodist Church. He predeceased her on March 20, 1991.
Arlene first worked for a time at the Mica Plant and was also an inspector at the Bombay Slipper Factory for a short time. She later started in the housekeeping department at Massena Memorial Hospital, where she continued until her retirement in 1985.
Arlene was a member of the VFW and AMVETS Auxiliaries, Massena Senior Citizens, and the Highland Red Hatters. She enjoyed following NASCAR, going to Dirt Track races, camping, playing cards, knitting, fishing, and playing bingo.
After her retirement in 1985, she and her late husband enjoyed many winters in Ocala, Florida until his passing in 1991.
Arlene is survived by her children and their spouses, Kenneth R. and Elizabeth Wood of Goose Creek of South Carolina; Martha A. and William MacGregor of Brewerton; Shirley Ann Wood of Massena; Richard and Joyce Wood of Canton; and Jerry Paul Wood and his fiancé, Brenda Jock of Massena; 21 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren; and her sister, Sylvia Quenneville of Massena.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Arlene was predeceased by a daughter, Mary Caudill on October 27, 2015; her step mother, Aletha Haggett Steenberg; her sisters, Isabell Douglas and Viola Burnap; her brothers, Harley and Arthur Steenberg; and her step brothers, Gilbert ?Gibby?, Paul W., and Donald W. Collins.
Friends may call on Friday 11:00 -1:00 p.m. at the Donaldson Funeral Home, Massena, where funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Donald Curry, officiating.
Burial will be held privately in Calvary Cemetery, Massena.
Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the New Testament Church Memorial Fund.

TODD Arthur J. Todd, 88, passed away March 20, 2010, in St. Petersburg. He was born in New Boston, NH and raised in Nahant, MA. He studied engineering at M.I.T. before enlisting in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was part of the first group of Marines to guard the Mayport Naval Base in 1939, and later served in the Pacific theater of WW II as an Amtrak operator, ultimately earning the rank of Drill Sergeant. Soon after arriving in Mayport he met native Marjorie Messmore, and they married in 1941. Upon returning from the Pacific theater 'Todd' and Marge lived in Mayport and the Beaches. His work in the construction industry led to the formation of A.J. Todd Construction Company in 1966. Todd's company built many projects for the Catholic Diocese of St. Augustine, including Prince of Peace, St. John the Baptist and Holy Spirit churches, major additions to Bishop Kenny High School and St. Paul's elementary school (Jax Beach), and the shrine at San Jose, as well as many other military, commercial and industrial buildings in the area. Todd and Marge were very active in St. Paul's Catholic Church and school, helping with every fundraiser and carnival. Todd had several passions. He was particularly fond of performing in comedic variety shows. Another passion was golf, which he enjoyed for 40+ years with several steadfast duffer friends. Yet another favorite hobby was RV'ing. He and Marge traveled extensively in the U.S. as well as to UF football games and with the SunWheelers throughout Florida. He also developed his artistic painting skills later in life. He won first place in the 1st Mayport & All That Jazz art festival in 1981, and was twice awarded the coveted Grumbacher Award. He was a member of the Beaches Art Guild for many years. His other passion was family, and he was an excellent husband, father and role model. Todd is predeceased by his wife of 59 years, Marjorie, and his sister Harriet Matson of Fitchburg, MA. He is survived by daughters Lynelle Duval of Jacksonville and Suzanne Cooper (Stephen) of Tampa; granddaughters Sara Cooper of Tampa and Jillie Duval of Jacksonville; one niece, several nephews and many other cousins and friends. The family will greet friends for a visitation from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at Chapel Hills Memorial Gardens, 850 St. Johns Bluff Rd., N. (904-641-9755). The Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Thursday, March 25, 2010 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 11665 Fort Caroline Rd. (904-641-7244). After a lengthy illness at Temiskaming and District Hospital, Friday, January 6, 1984 in her 57th year.
Audrey was an employee of Northern Telephone Company Limited, past president of the Communication Workers of Canada, the first National Vice President of the Communication Workers of Canada, and a member of the Telephone of Pioneers of America.
She is predeceased by her parents, Frank and Irene Merchant, and one brother, Grant Merchant.
Audrey is survived by her dear husband, Len, sons, Doug Tomchick and family, (Elliott Lake), Robert Tomchick and family, (Kitchener), Larry Tomchick and family, (Strathroy), Gord Tomchick, (Timmins), and Dan Tomchick, (Red Deer, Alta.) One step-son Len, of North Bay. Also surviving are two step-daughters, Mrs. Kathy O'Grady and Mrs. Theresa Bond both of North Bay.
Audrey is also survived by two sister, Bev. (Mrs. Lorne Jelly Jr.), New Liskeard, and Betty (Mrs. Elwin Winters) Val Caron. Two brothers, Norman Merchant of Gravenhurst, and Lyle Merchant of Calgary, Alberta. Lovingly remembered by her ten grandchildren.
Services were held held Monday, January 9, 1984 from St. Paul's United Church, New Liskeard, with the Rev. Lorne Keays officiating. Interment will be in the Hanbury Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Cliff Westman, Don Dodds, Roger Leroux, Mervyn Manners, Dick Smith and Joe MacDonald.

ROBERTS: Barbara Hamilton, 81, a longtime resident of Danville, an educator and a homemaker, died Tuesday, March 12, 2002.
Barbara was born Feb. 6, 1921, in St. Johnsbury, to Dr. William A. and Frances (Clement) Hamilton. She graduated from Philips Academy in Danville in 1939 and Simmons College in Boston, Mass., in 1943, with a bachelor of science degree in home economics.
Barbara began her professional career working for the Junkett Company in New York from 1943 to 1945 and was the head of the Milbourne High School food service in Milbourne, N.J. from 1945 to 1948. She taught home economics at St. Johnsbury Academy from 1948 to 1953.
From 1977 until 1988 she was the correspondence secretary for the American Society of Dowsers. She was honored as the society\'s Dowser of the Year in 1986. She was a member of the Danville Congregational Church, and enjoyed people, gardening, travel and was devoted to her family.
Barbara was predeceased in January, 2002, by her husband of 50 years, Llewellyn Roberts. She was also predeceased by her twin sister, Beverly (Hamilton) Jenks, a brother, Paul Hamilton, and a son-in-law, Thomas Rowland.
She is survived by six children, Priscilla Carpenter of Burlington, Prudence Westerberg and husband Frederick of Fryeburg, Maine, Polly Rowland of Burlington, John Roberts and wife Linda of Raleigh, N.C., Judith Roberts of Waterbury Center, and Jeanne Adams and husband John of Terrell, N.C.; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Marion (Hamilton) and husband Robert Morse of Venice, Fla.
Visiting hours will be held at the Sayles Funeral Home, Thursday evening, March 14, from 5 to 7 p.m.
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 15, at 10 a.m. at the Danville Congregational Church, with the Rev. Rona Tyndall, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in May at the Danville Green Cemetery.

WIK, BARBARA R. (BRAMBLE) 83, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at Briarcliffe Manor in Johnston, RI. She was the wife of the late Wayne M. Rawding. Born in Providence, RI; she was the daughter of the late Edward and Ruth (Randall) Bramble.
Barbara was a manager in the children's department at Sears & Roebuck Co. for over 30 years. After retiring she volunteered as a senior companion, taking those who were confined to their homes on adventures to stores, restaurants and errands. She was a passionate gardener who created many beautiful gardens. She greatly looked forward to her yearly road trip to Ohio to visit her niece Ruthie Martin. Her other interests included spending time at the ocean, painting, creating beautiful wreaths, arts and crafts and playing cards. She once won a World Poker Tournament at Foxwoods.
She is survived by her five children: Cheryl Dancause of Derry, NH; James Wik, Jr. of Eleva, WI; Robin Crossley and her husband Mark of Coventry, RI; Wendy Eckwright and her husband Steve of Eleva, WI and Tracy Motta and her husband Lionel of Coventry, RI; nine grandchildren: Eric Dancause, Jessica Beaudet, Ashley Dancause, Melissa Crossley, Rachel Crossley, Brandi Wolf, Sara Eckwright, Wayne Lotito and Laura Lotito; three great-grandchildren: Cody, Kayla and Harper and a brother Burton Bramble. She is predeceased by four siblings: Robert Bramble, Beverly Lawton, Dale Bramble, and Clifford Bramble.
Calling hours will be held at Carpenter-Jenks Funeral Home & Crematory, 659 East Greenwich Avenue, West Warwick, RI on Saturday, July 15 from 12 Noon to 2:00 PM followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM. Burial will be private.

TOWNS, Bazel Emerson - Bazel Towns died peacefully at the Northeast Mental Health Centre, North Bay on Wednesday, January 07, 2009. He was in his 79th year. Bazel was the beloved husband of Bernice (Woolger-Grawbarger) of Bear Valley and much loved father of Debra Nicholls (Brian) of Restoule, Shirley Timpano (Bill) of Gravenhurst, Donna McDaniel (Clark) of Elora and Carl Towns (Alexis) of Bear Valley. He was the proud and loving grandfather of nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Bazel was the dear brother of Dorothy McKeen of Fenwick, Harold Towns of Cobourg and Orville Towns of Cambridge. He was predeceased by his sister Mary White and brothers Everett, Elmer and Herb Towns. The Towns family will receive visitors at the PAUL FUNERAL HOME, Powassan on Friday, January 9, 2009 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. Funeral Service will be held Saturday at 11:00 am in the Funeral Home Chapel. Spring interment Nipissing Cemetery. Beatrice Ursula Knight, 67, died unexpectedly Thursday, July 5, 2001, in Fletcher Allen Health Care. She was born in Starksboro on April 17, 1934, the daughter of the late Phillip and Ursula Hallock. She married William Knight in Huntington on May 9, 1953. Bea was a member of the Huntington Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir for many years. She was a kind and devoted caregiver to many friends and neighbors. She was a volunteer at Brewster Pierce Elementary School, where she enjoyed the first- and second-graders. Bea was an avid fan of the Huntington Hillbillies softball team. She loved big family gatherings, swimming with all the kids, cooking and baking. The summer months were spent gardening, canning and freezing the bountiful produce. She loved all animals, especially her dear cat, Tommy.
She is survived by her husband, William, for whom she had been the dedicated caregiver for many years; her daughter, Karen Doolan and her husband, Mike, of Essex; seven sons, Myron and his partner, Patricia Haskins, of Huntington, Mike and Sheila Knight of Starksboro, Marvin Knight of Winooski, Marty and Shelly Knight of Waterbury, Monte and Rebecca Knight of Huntington, Milford and Laurie Knight of Burlington, and Merle and Carolyn Knight of Bristol; 12 grandchildren; a great-grandson; her sister, Freda Bean of Huntington; two brothers, Clarence Hallock of Lincoln and Clinton Hallock of Essex Junction; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters, Isabelle Moody and Marion Brace; three brothers, Celon, Nelson and Dayton Hallock, and a special family member, Glen Truax.
Funeral services will be held Monday, July 9, at 11 a.m. in the Huntington Baptist Church with burial to follow in Maplewood Cemetery in Huntington. Visiting hours are Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. in the Gifford Funeral Home, 22 Depot St., Richmond. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Richmond Rescue, P.O. Box 404, Richmond, Vt. 05477.

Ben passed away Sunday, September 8, 2019, at the South Muskoka Memorial Hospital. Beloved husband of Cindy (nee Boothby) of Bracebridge. Loving father of Johnathon (Amanda) of Bracebridge and Benji (Sophia) of Collingwood. Ben is the proud grandfather of Robert, Andrew, Steven, Isabella and a grand-baby on the way. Son of Anne and the late John Tubman. Brother to Kim (Don) of St. Louis. Ben spent his career as a funeral director at Reynolds Funeral Home in Bracebridge. For over 38 years, he has been a constant support for many families in Bracebridge and all of the surrounding communities. He was an avid golfer and curler at South Muskoka Curling and Golf Club. Ben will be missed and remembered by his colleagues and many friends. Ben was from the Ottawa Valley and hunted each year with long-time pals in Richmond.
Visitation will be held at Reynolds Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 11, 2019 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Being from the Ottawa Valley, visitation will also be held at Alan R. Barker Funeral Home in Carleton Place, on Thursday, September 12, 2019 from 12:00 noon - 2:00 pm. The funeral will be held in the chapel of the Alan R. Barker Funeral Home at 2:00 pm. McKerracher - In the death of Mr. Benjamin MeKerracher, which occurred at his inte residence on Tuesday, April 29th, the town loses one who had been a resident for the past twenty-five years. Deceased had reached the ripe age of eighty-four years and was born in the township of Bathurst where he had farmed previous to coming to Perth. Forty-five years ago he was married to Margaret Kirkham who survives together with three daughters and five sons: Mrs, A. L. Chariton, and Carrie of Perth; Mrs. Geo. Philinps of Woonsocket, R. I.; Messrs, William and Alfred at home: Thomas of Bathurst, John of North Bay, and Benjamin of Toronto. For many years the deceased was a member of Court Tay Canadian Order of Forresters under whose direction the funeral took place to Elmwood cemetery last Thursday afternoon. The funeral services at the home were conducted by Rev. Thos. Brown, pastor of Asbury Methodist church. The pallbearers were Messrs, W. Douglas, H. Saunders, C. F. Stone. A. Chariton, T. McKerracher and A. Wilson.

ALMONTE, Dec 28 - (Special)- Mrs Reuben Giles, longtime resident of Blakeney Village, some three miles north of Almonte, died at her home in the village on December 25 following a short illness. She was 77. Born Bertha McArthur in Ramsay township February 29, 1880, she was a daughter of the late Stephen McArthur and his wife, the former Mary Turner. She received her education in the rural schools. Following her marriage some 45 years ago she and her husband moved to Blakeney Village, where they have resided until the time of her death. She was a member of the Blakeney United Church and was a life member of the Women's Missionary Society of the church. Surviving, besides her husband, are a daughter, Mrs J.H. Majaury (Margaret) of Almonte; a sister and a brother, Ethel and Stephen McArthur of Blakeney. The funeral was held on Friday from the Comba funeral home at 2 p.m., with interment being in the Auld Kirk cemetery. Rev Mr Henley officiated, assisted by Rev J. Ray Anderson of the Almonte United Church.

Betty (nee Bowman) was a beloved wife of the late Walter Richard MacMillan and Robert Oliver “Bob” Clark, she was 94 years old. Loving mother of Bob MacMillan and his wife Louise of Calgary. She will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Sean (Lise) MacMillan, Janet MacMillan-Brown and great grandchildren Keegan, Katie & Gavin. Dearly loved sister of Palmer Bowman of Elmvale. She was predeceased by her parent's Joseph and Elizabeth Bowman, and by her siblings Marjorie, Audrey, Joe, Austin, Sheldon, Sally and John. Betty had been an active member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #445. Visitation for Betty will be held at the Martyn Funeral Home on Sunday July 14th from 2:00 to 4:00 pm. Betty Ann (Smiley) Pelton Soens, Danbury, died at her home Dec. 21, 2001. She was 74 years old.
Betty was born May 8, 1927, in Pine City, Minn. Betty was the fourth child and first daughter of John M. and Pearl V. (McKee) Smiley. She and her family moved to Wisconsin in 1930, where she lived most of her youth.
Betty met Earle Francis Pelton and married him Jan. 16, 1946, after his return from World War II. Two children were born to this union. During their marriage they worked together cutting pulp and helping both their parents with farm chores until Earle began working in the Twin Cities for Bridge Builders. They enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling and were involved in the local snowmobile club.
After Earle died in November 1972, Betty met Curtis Edward Soens. They were married in Ely, Minn. They lived near Hinckley, Minn., on a farm and raised sheep and vegetables to sell. When Curtis died in May of 1993, Betty moved back to Danbury to be closer to her family. She had been ill for many years and was housebound most of the time until her death.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Earle; second husband, Curtis; brothers Herbert (in WWII), Carl and Willis; great-grandson; two nieces and one great-niece.
She is survived by daughters Linda L. (Willie) Jorgensen and Vicki L. (Gerald) Koenen, both of Danury; grandchildren Tammy J. (Mike) Jones, Dresser, Brian C. Jorgensen, Ginger L. Koenen and Jennifer A. Todd) Kern, all of Danbury; great-grandchildren Andrew and Amber Jorgensen, Ciara Koenen and Merissa and Dustin Kern; brothers John W. Smiley, Oregon, Douglas E. (Bonnie) Smiley, Earl W. (Laura) Smiley and Robert D. (Linda), all of Danbury; sisters Dorothy M. Terzini, Webster, Nell L. (Bill) Rosen, Kentucky, Mary E. Davis, Danbury and Ruth D. (James) Drizzel, Pennsylvania; 16 nieces and nephews; 34 great-nieces and nephews; five great-great-nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Jan. 7 at the Danbury United Methodist Church in Danbury with Andrea Snithback officiating. Music was provided by organist Joanne Zillmer and soloist Julie Macke. Casketbearers were Gary Soens, Brian Jorgensen, Mike Jones, Todd Kern, Wayne Talmadge and John Mercer. Interment was held at the Danbury Cemetery in Danbury.
The Swedberg-Taylor Funeral Home, Webster, assisted the family with arrangements.

Beverly L. Knight, formerly of Monroe NY, passed away on Wednesday, November 23, 2016, at Jersey Shore Medical Center in Neptune, NJ. She was 80 years old. The daughter of the late Alphonse A. Plank and Meta Ellen Brooks, she was born on February 13, 1936, in Goshen, NY. She married Robert W. Knight in Atlantic City, NJ, on January 10th 1957. Beverly was employed at Highland Telephone Company as an Operator and later in the Building Maintenance Department for Frontier Communications of New York.
Noted for her library of cookbooks and her baked apple pies, she opened her kitchen to everyone. She was never too busy to bake a birthday cake. Her smile brightened up a room along with a keen sense of humor, a helpmate to her friends and family. She enjoyed traveling to Atlantic City and dining with good friends. Her fondness and love for animals included her beloved dog, Annie Rooney. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and also a member of NJ Coalition on Woman and Disabilities. She served as sunshine coordinator of the Coalition.
Survivors include sons: Jack L. Knight and his wife Gia of Goshen, NY and John S. Knight of Fort Lauderdale, FL.; daughters: Ruth A. Stack and husband Roy of Jackson, NJ, and Jan M. VanHage of Warwick, NY. Brothers: Robert Plank and wife Dot of McHenry, IL., Larry Plank and wife Nancy of Port Royal, SC, and Stuart Plank of Freehold, NJ.; grandchildren: Dariel Stack, Bryson Cooper, Rachael Knight, Carly Knight, Timothy Stack, Derek Knight, Brianna Cooper and Gabriella Knight; great-grandchildren: Aalijah Knight, Carmella Ferraro, Owen Goldbaum and Noah Williams. Beverly was predeceased by her son Robert W. Knight Jr. and her husband of 50 years, Robert W. Knight.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, November 30th at Smith Seaman and Quackenbush, Inc. Funeral Home, 117 Maple Avenue, Monroe, NY. A Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, December 1st in the Funeral Home.

Died peacefully on Tuesday, May 19, 2020 at Campbell House Hospice, Collingwood surrounded by his family at the age of 87. Bill of Wasaga Beach, beloved husband of Winifred for over 66 years. Loving father of Brian (Stephanie), Lori (Keith McIntyre) and Terri Brethauer-Mischuk. Cherished grandfather of Allan, Kristi and Shantal Brethauer, Olivia Hamilton, Matthew Mischuk and Hope Robertson and great grandfather of Summer and London Mischuk, Marlene Brethauer, Cole Hamilton and Tobiah Robertson. Bill had a long and rewarding career with Warner Lambert, later Pfizer as well as over 35 years as an OHL referee. He was a sportsman who loved to play and watch hockey, curl and golf well into his 80’s. Bill was most committed to his family. He loved them deeply, doting on his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will be dearly missed. A Celebration will occur at a later date when conditions permit. If desired, a donation to the Royal Victoria Hospital Foundation for the Cancer Centre or to Hospice Georgian Triangle Foundation for Campbell House would be appreciated by his family.

William M. ?Bill? Lewis, 89, of Auburn, died on Tuesday June 11, 2019 after a period of declining health.
Born in Worcester to Marshall W. and Eva (Gates) Lewis, Bill was raised in Auburn and met the love of his life, Claire E. (Simmons), when they were just sixteen years old. They were married in 1951, two years after graduating from Auburn High School, and most recently celebrated 68 years of marriage. Bill dedicated 13 years of service to the United States Army National Guard.
Bill always enjoyed spending the afternoon playing golf and loved to travel. He was known, to friends and family, as a handyman, able to fix any problem they might have.
He was a longtime member of Hadwen Park Congregational Church and looked forward to the weekly service he would attend.
Bill leaves his loving wife, Claire; three brothers, Royden K., Richard A., and Robert E. Lewis; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held privately at his family?s request. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to a charity of one?s choice.

Surviving are a sister, Martha Benedict of Sebastian, Fla.; two stepsisters, Gertrude Alnutt of Auburn and Naomi Rogers of Poughkeepsie; and several nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in the First Presbyterian Church of Auburn, the Rev. Robert Crowell officiating. Burial will be in Fort Hill Cemetery.
Calling hours are 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Brew Funeral Home, 48 South St. Masonic services will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

William "Bill" Rosen, 73, of Sedalia died at 4:35 p.m. Thursday at Jackson Purchase Medical Center in Mayfield.
Mr. Rosen served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a retired ironworker in St. Paul, Minn.
He is survived by his wife, Nell Rosen; four brothers, Ronald Rosen of Boyceville, Wis., Gerald Rosen of Cameron, Wis., Lawerance Rosen of Clear Lake, Wis., and Darald Rosen of Barron, Wis.; and three sisters, Donna VanSlate of Merrill, Wis., Bonnie Reindahl of Clear Lake and Linda Robertson of Clayton, Wis., .
His parents were Ed Rosen and Kathryn Newville Rosen. He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
There will be no funeral. Byrn Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

William E. "Bill" Simpson, 73, of Marshall, Michigan died at home on Saturday, October 8, 2016, after a courageous battle with cancer. William Edgar "Bill" Simpson was born September 22, 1943 in Battle Creek to Myron and Edna (Wooden) Simpson. He grew up in Hickory Corners and was a 1960 graduate of Kellogg Agricultural School. He honorably served in the U.S. Marine Corps 1960-64; and is a 100% Disabled American Veteran. Bill was employed as a carpenter for Schweitzer Construction Company and did a lot of work at the Kellogg Company. In 1985, Kellogg Company hired Bill and he was employed there until retiring in 2010, as Director of Operations and Corporate Construction. Bill married Diane M. Moyers on June 27, 1985 at Yorkville Community Church. Surviving are his wife, Diane; two sons, Wade Wilkey of Fine Lake, Walt (Shelley Freeman) Wilkey of Aqua Dulce, California; several grandchildren including Wendy, Whitney, Tyler, Jackie, Alexis and Toni; and a great-grandson, Daniel Arnold. Bill was preceded in death by his son, Duane R. Simpson on Dec. 16, 2003; a brother, Robert Simpson and a sister, Eleanor Gillespie. Bill was a member of the Kellogg 25 Year Club. He was a member of the U.S. Marine Rifle and Pistol Team and still enjoyed target practice. He was a former big game hunter and traveled to Africa, Costa Rica, Mexico and Venezuela. Bill was an avid fisherman and also enjoyed big game fishing. He especially loved boating on the great lakes, especially cruising in his Sea Ray "Purrsistence" (name of boat) on Lake Michigan. Friends will be received 4:00-6:00 p.m. Sunday at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, where funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday, October 17, 2016. Interment with military honors by the Ft. Custer and the U.S. Marine Corps Honor Guards will follow at Ft. Custer National Cemetery. William Gene "Bill" Studebaker passed away on April 3, 2012 in Odenton, MD. He was 90 years old, born October 4, 1921 in Marcus, WA to Harold and Minnie (Culp) Studebaker.
Bill grew up in Skagit County. He graduated from Sedro-Woolley High school and attended Skagit Valley College.
Bill was a Veteran of the US Air Force having attained the rank of Lt. Col. He served in World War II as a Command Pilot and in the Korean War as a pilot.
In 1946 Bill married Ailsa Clune of Australia.
Upon retirement Bill worked for the Dept. of Transportation, Bureau of Highway Safety in WA DC.
Bill was truly a gentleman of gentlemen, treating all with kindness and respect. He loved life. He loved his children, grandchildren, extended family and many friends. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed fellowship of friends that went with it.
Bill was preceded in death by his late wife, Velma; his parents, and brother Roy.
He is survived by his son, James (Carol) Studebaker, of Australia; daughter, Susan, of Odenton, Maryland; a brother, Karl (Mary), of Bellingham; grandchildren, James of Reston, VA. and Elizabeth, of Sacramento, CA; nephews, Tom Studebaker (Dana), of Sedro-Woolley and Kenneth Studebaker (JoAnn), of La Palma, CA; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Interment was held on April 5 in Cranston, RH. A memorial service was held at the Fort Mead Officers Club on Friday, April, 6, 2012.

William ?Bill? Christopher Weyer, age 92, of Narrows, VA lived on the family farms in Saskatchewan and Alberta, Canada until his family moved to the US when he was 10 years old. He graduated from Gonzaga High School in Spokane, Washington and served in the US Navy during World War II. After the war, Bill started a 36 year career with Kaiser Aluminum. During his tenure there, he rose from factory worker to plant manager. While serving this role in Kaiser Plants throughout the US, including Spokane, WA; Ravenswood, WV; Belpre, OH; and Valparaiso, IN, his prestigious career also took him to locations such as Europe, Japan and Australia. Bill married Carol Mae Murray in Spokane and they raised five children together and had many wonderful experiences of cross-country vacations, camping, and Myrtle Beach trips. Bill was an avid gardener and golfer and a published poet. He also loved playing the harmonica for family and friends and telling many wonderful stories throughout his life. His ability to delight and entertain will be greatly missed. Bill was preceded in death by his loving wife of 62 years, Carol Mae Weyer; his parents, Andrew and Jane Munro Weyer; his sisters Catherine, Margaret and Wilma; and brothers Tom and Pat. He is survived by his brother Joe Weyer ; his five children; Tom; Dave; Sharon Weyer Aune; Kevin; and Steve.

He is also survived by eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great great-grandchild. Billy served in World War II with the U.S. Navy Sea Bees. He was a Loyal Moose Member for 30 years.
