Tolles, Wendell J. passed away on Tuesday morning, April 21, 2015 at Rose Arbor Hospice Residence. He was born on February 9, 1930 in Kalamazoo, the son of Leo and Alice (Carson) Tolles. Wendell was a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Korean Conflict. On June 4, 1954, he was united in marriage to his best friend and fishing partner, Joanne M. Tolles in Kalamazoo. In addition to fishing, Wendell enjoyed traveling with Joanne; camping/fishing at Interlochen State Park for over 50 summers and 23 winters in Florida. He was employed by Kalamazoo Public Schools for over 30 years and was a member of Sunnyside United Methodist. Surviving are two children, Douglas (Robyn) Tolles of Kalamazoo and Diane (Steve) McLeod of Dallas, TX; two grandchildren, Jessica (Parker) Hornsby and Ian McLeod; great-granddaughter, Evelyn Hornsby; and several cousins. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 25, at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Galesburg Chapel, 145 W. Battle Creek Street. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 6-8 PM on Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be directed to Sunnyside United Methodist Church.

Wesley Alois Schlude, 96, beloved husband of Stephaine R. (Rittlinger) Schlude of Ellington, died Saturday (December 13, 2014) at Meadow Brook of Granby. He was born in Hartford on July 14, 1918 son of the late, Louis C. Schlude and Edna (Warner) Schlude; living in Hartford a short time and in Broad Brook a short time, moving to Ellington. Wesley worked for Pratt & Whitney in Production Engineering for 28 years, retiring at an early age to run his farm. Pratt & Whitney sponsored him at UConn for two years. He was schooled in Ellington and Rockville High School Class of 1936. He was a member of the Ellington Congregational Church and the Better Age Club. Wesley and his wife did a lot of traveling in their camper covering the East Coast and Canada. His family is one of the original settlers (Warners) of the Town of Ellington having settled in 1760. The house they lived in was built by one of his ancestors. In addtion to his wife, Stephaine, he leaves two sons and their wives, Robert W. Schlude, his wife, Christine Schlude of Moultonboro, NH and Leonard W. Schlude, his wife, Cathy Schlude of Bloomfield, CT; two grandchildren, Marianne Schlude DeCarli, her husband, Christian DeCarli and Glenn R. Schlude, his wife Michelle Charette and a great granddaughter, Jennah Schlude all residing in Ellington.
His family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 17 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Road, Enfield. Funeral and burial will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to Ellington Congregational Church, 72 Main Street, Ellington or Ellington Volunteer Ambulance Corps, P.O. Box 71, Ellington, CT 06029.

TORONTO, May 10 Wife of the late George Allen, formerly of Mattawa, Mary Jane Brown died at the Lambert Lodge Monday.
Funeral will be held Thursday.
Two sons survive. They are James and Joseph Allen, A nephew, Samuel J. Armstrong also survives.
Funeral service is planned for 1.30 p.m. Thursday afternoon with interment in Prospect Cemetery.

Passed away peacefully after a brief illness on Thursday, October 25, 2001 at K-W Health Centre of Grand River Hospital. Wilbert King in his 58 years of age was the beloved husband of Ruth (nee Halvorsen) King for 37 years. Loving father of Douglas and his wife Kim, David King, Tammy and her husband Steve Knarr all of Kitchener. Dear grandfather of Chelsea Ruth Ann King, Leandra Rose Knarr and step grandfather of Stephen, Matthew, Brandon, Brittany. Dear brother of Edna King of Kitchener and Bernice Lariviere and her husband Ben of Hanmer. Wilbert will be missed by his nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Henry and Rose King and brothers Harold, Robert and Bill.
Wilbert was the owner operator of Community Lawn and Snow Services for 28 years.
Wilbert's family will receive friends from 7-9pm Sunday and 10am - 11am Monday at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener (749-8467).

Wilbur E. Tibbitts, Jr., of Ft. White passed away on Thursday, March 20, 2008 at Suwannee Valley Care Center in Lake City. He was 81.
Mr. Tibbitts was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan, moved to Ft. White in 1996 coming from Ft. Myers. He was a chemical engineer and he served in the US Navy during World War II in the Pacific. He was a member of St. Bartholomew Episcopal Church in High Springs.
Mr. Tibbitts was preceded in death by his grandson Curt Tibbitts, Jr. His Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Carla N. Tibbitts of Ft. White; 2 sons, Allen Tibbitts of Virginia; Curt Tibbitts of Grant, FL; and one daughter, Gail Schumacher of Orange Park; two sisters & two brothers all of Michigan; seven grandchildren.
Memorial Services will be held on Tuesday, March 25, at 10:30a.m. at St. Bartholomew Episcopal Church in High Springs, Florida.

Wilburn Byers died peacefully at Waters Edge, North Bay on Friday, November 4, 2022. He was 89 years old. Wilburn was predeceased by his parents Agnes (McConnell) and Levi Byers; his siblings Gladys Mason (the late Tom), Evelyn Byers, Violet Hazelwood (the late Eric), Greta Bayliss (the late Hector), Andrew and Tom Byers (Caroline of Medicine Hat, Alberta). He was the dear brother of Wilda Byers of Dunnville, Sam Byers (Ethel) of Dunnville, Gwen Hazelwood (Clarence) of Renfrew and Marjorie Trainer of North Bay. He is also survived by sons Daniel and Patrick Byers. He will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews and friends. Wilburn was a retired maintenance worker at the former E.T.I. and lived previously in Callander and Powassan. His family will receive visitors at the Paul Funeral Home, Powassan, on Tuesday, November 8, 2022 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 pm. and on Wednesday, November 9, from 10:00 to 11:00 am at the Paul Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11:00 am in the funeral home chapel, and will be live-streamed at paulfuneralhome.ca. Interment at Nipissing Cemetery.

A long time resident of this city, Mr. Wilfred Byers passed away at Leisure World, Saturday, January 14th. He was 84. Mr. Byers was born and resided at Bark Lake (Renfrew County), as well as Nipissing Village and Parry Sound. He moved to North Bay in 1941. A person interested in nature, Mr. Byers was an ardent carver and mounted moose and deer horns as a hobby. He was also an avid hunter. He enjoyed music to the fullest, playing the violin for house parties when living in Nipissing and also as a pastime until sickness intervened. He also repaired violins. Mr. Byers is survived by a son, Emmeth, Mrs. John Collins (Helen), Mrs. Harvey Collins (Ethel) and Mrs. Robert Steed (Bernice), all of North Bay. He will be fondly remembered by fifteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Also surviving are a brother, Gordon of Clearwater, Florida, and a sister, Mary Ellen Lines of Florida. He was predeceased by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Byers, brothers, Kenneth, William, Lorne and Hubert, and a sister Mrs. George Hignell (Eucaria). Funeral mass was celebrated by Reverend Jack David at St. Peter's Church, Tuesday, January 17th at 11 am. Interment St. Mary's Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Walter, Warner and Eric Byers, Robert and Michael Collins, and Carl Glass.
