4224 Randall Bennett, 76, of 360 Thames St., passed away Aug. 8, 2010, at the Groton Regency.
He was born in Buffalo, N.Y., on July 28, 1934, the son of William E. and Pauline (Fields) Bennett.
Randy was a decorated U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War and had worked as the Veterans Administration liaison representative for the Connecticut Department of Labor.
He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, and the Moose Club. He had been a supernumerary officer with the Groton City Police Department and was a former Boy Scout Leader of Troop 13.
He is survived by a son, Kevin Bennett of Groton, three grandchildren, and a great-granddaughter. He was predeceased by a son, Corey Bennett.
A graveside service with military honors will be held at 12 noon on Monday at Colonel Ledyard Cemetery, Groton.
Byles-Groton Memorial Home is in charge of arrangements.

4225 Randy Ronald McKay passed away on Thursday, December 8, 2016, at the age of 39.
Born in Almonte, Ontario, he was the son of Ronald and Carole McKay.
Randy is also survived by his wife Jennifer(MacAskill); daughter Hailey Grace; sister Gail of Clayton, Ontario; brother Dwayne (Cheryl) of Clayton, Ontario; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 14, 2016, from 10 am to 11 am. The funeral service will be held following the visitation, at 11 am, from Northumberland Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Willard Watling officiating.
As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario.
Funeral arrangements are in the care of Northumberland Funeral Home.

4228 Rankin, Agnes Jean Vae (nee Harper) 1924 - 2017 It is with the heaviest of hearts that we share the news of the passing of our dear mother, grandmother and friend on Wednesday, February 15, 2017. She peacefully entered into heaven in her sleep. We bow our heads today as a family to thank God for giving her 92 beautiful years to share her kindness, generosity, sincerity, stories, laughter and faith with everyone she touched. We are comforted in this time of sorrow by the everlasting love story she shared with her dear husband Ken, and we take solace in their happy reunion. They felt blessed by their children Heather (David), Blake (Eileen) and Steve (Kim) and former in-laws Monique and Patty; proud of their grandchildren Alison (Kevin), Kenneth, Jodi-Lyne, Brittany, Norah and Jamie and grateful for their great grand-children Joey and Lexi. Vae devoted many years of service to her community as a leader for Explorers and CGIT. She was a comforting presence delivering Meals on Wheels, and as a pillar in her congregation at St. Timothy?s Presbyterian; from the Afternoon Circle to World Day of Prayer celebrations. An adventurous farm girl from McDonalds Corners, Vae loved the daily joys of this life. We ask that you honour her memory by being grateful for these same joys, just as she taught us. Passed away June 17, 2011. Donald was born July 4, 1936, in Battle Creek, the son of Freeman and Claudine (Ripley) Rapson. A veteran, Donald served his country in the US. Army. He retired from General Motors in 1993, with over twenty seven years of service. Donald loved to golf and hunt. For over twelve years Donald and Joyce lived in Mohave, AZ, returning to Michigan in 2008. On December 3, 1966, he married Joyce Pennock, who survives. Donald is also survived by sisters; Elizabeth Broughman, and Thelma Wood, both of Battle Creek, and several nieces and nephews. His parents and a sister, Mary preceded him in death. According to his wishes there will be no services.

4233 Ray V. Bailey was born December 14, 1913 in Royal, Iowa. On June 18, 1938 he married Maxine Sheldon and they had two sons.
Upon graduation from Royal High School in 1931, Ray attended the University of Iowa where he received his BA and JD degrees in 1935 and 1937 respectively. During World War II Ray served as a U.S. Civil Service investigator and patent advisor to the War Department.
An active member of the community, Mr. Bailey was director of Clarion Community Development Commission; past chairperson of public affairs committee of the Wright County Extension Council; director of Colonial Homes, Inc.; on the Board of Okoboji Protective Association; attended the Methodist and Christian Science Churches; was a member of the Lions Club; the Wright County, Iowa State and American Bar Associations; on the Patent Law Revision Committee of Patent, Trademark, and Copyright Section of the American Bar Association; was a former member of the Clarion Board of Education; member of SUI Alumni Council; past president of SUI Dad?s Association and member of the Executive Board; is listed in Who?s Who in the Midwest and World Who?s Who in Commerce and Industry; was very active in the World Peace Through Law Center; was a longtime member of the UI Foundation?s Presidents Club and Alumni Association.
A Democrat, Mr. Bailey represented Wright County during the Sixty-first, Sixty-second and Sixty-third General Assemblies.
Ray V. Bailey died February 4, 1992. He was preceded in death by his wife Maxine. He is survived by his sons Theron of Arlington, Virginia and Bryan of Brandon, South Dakota; and three grandchildren.

4236 Raymond and Edna Patricia Porteus, of Brandon, FL, formerly of Southington, were lovingly married for 70 years. Raymond passed away on February 5, 2011 and Edna Patricia joined him in heaven on April 20, 2018. They are survived by their children, Robert of Terryville, Sandra of Wolcott, Dorothy Breton and her husband Richard of Bristol; their eight grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. He worked and retired from Stanley Works in New Britain. He loved gardening, fishing and making wood crafts. Edna Patricia was born in Hartford on February 22, 1928 and was raised in Windsor. She loved to help Raymond with his wood crafts, painting what he created, and hosting neighborhood cookie parties. A memorial service celebrating both their lives will be held at 10 AM Saturday, July 7 at the Carmon Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Ave Windsor followed by burial in Windsor Veterans Memorial Cemetery.

4239 Raymond L. Finney , 83, formerly of Syracuse, died Saturday in Zephyrhills, Fla.
A native of Cayuga, he resided in the Syracuse area most of his life. He retired as vice president of the Marjax Corp. and was the former owner of Ray's Diner in Solvay.
Mr. Finney was the former village clerk in Solvay. An Army veteran of World War II, he was a member of the Stanley B. Pennock Post VFW 2893.
Surviving are his wife, Margaret; two sons, Raymond J. of Cicero and Robert W. of Camillus; two sisters, Marjorie Arendos of Dunedin, Fla., and Ada Owens of East Syracuse; six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the John C. Tindall Funeral Home. Burial will be in St. Mary's of the Lake Cemetery, Skaneateles.

4240 Raymond M. Pennock, 77, of DeWitt, Iowa, died Friday afternoon, April 26, 2013, in rural Scott County, Iowa, as the result of a traffic accident.
The family will receive friends at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt, from 3:00 until 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 1, 2013. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 2, 2013, in the Funeral Home with Pastor Paul Lang officiating. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery, DeWitt. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, memorials may be designated to the Clinton County Humane Society.Pallbearers will be Josh Reisdorph, Elliott Pennock, Jesse Pennock, Luke Renner, Kevin Hix, and Jeff Bader.
Raymond Myrl Pennock was born February 22, 1936, in Davenport, Iowa to Myrl and Neva (Garlough) Pennock. He moved to DeWitt as a young boy and attended DeWitt schools. Ray owned and operated Ray's Repair and Dirt Work in DeWitt for many years. He was well known for his many skills as well as preparing and maintaining the demolition derby area each year at the Clinton County Fair. No job was too big or too small. Ray married Joyce Collins September 22, 1986.
Although work may be considered his favorite hobby, he also enjoyed fishing, boating and RVing as long as it was by the "scenic route.? He will be lovingly remembered and missed by his family as well as his many coffee buddies.

4242 Reba J. Pennock, 80, of Belding, passed away Monday, Feb. 27, 2006, at her home. She was born Nov. 23, 1925, in Stanton, the daughter Allie ?Jib? and Mable Cooper Hall. Reba worked for Belding Products for 24 years.
She is survived by her husband, Everett; sons and daughter-in-law, Ronald Pennock of Belding, Jim and Vicki Pennock of Vestaburg; daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and David Manley of Belding; 10 grandchildren, Ronald E. and Lori Pennock of Orleans, Joe and Kim Pennock of Smyrna, Steve Pennock of Saranac, Dan and Mary Pennock of Tennessee, Randy and April Parrish of Greenville, Rusty Parrish,

4246 Reed Nelson, 91 of Battle Creek, passed away, Saturday, April 30, 2011 at the Lifespan Good Samaritan Hospice Residence. He was born April 4, 1920 in Downers Grove, Illinois the son of DeWitte and Bertha (Hockett) Nelson. Reed graduated from Downers Grove High School in 1938 and the Michigan College of Mining and Technology (now known as Michigan Technological University) in 1942 with a degree in Chemical Engineering. He was a weather officer in the Army Air Corps serving from 1943 to 1946. Reed worked at Post Cereals and I.P.I. prior to working at the Union Pump Company from 1955 to 1964. In 1964 he moved his family to Ashland, OH to work at the F.E. Myer & Brother Company. Reed returned to the Union Pump Company in 1969 and retired in 1982. Reed discovered bicycling in the early 70?s and with Ruth at his side, became an avid and passionate cyclist. They were active members of the Battle Creek Bicycle Club for many years, winning many mileage trophies along the way. Reed and Ruth enjoyed traveling, especially throughout the United States. Bicycle tours were followed in later years by trips by car or bus. In 1984, at the age of 64, Reed fulfilled a dream and rode his bike, with full pack, across the United States with a small group, following the ?Bikecentennial Trail?. It was the longest time Reed and Ruth were ever separated during 61 years of marriage. Surviving are two daughters: Laurie J. Nelson of Grand Rapids and Linda R. (Leonard) Trudeau of Antioch, IL. Family will receive friends at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home on Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with Rev. Patricia Weatherwax officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at Fort Custer National Cemetery. A luncheon will follow in the Parlor of the First Presbyterian Church of Battle Creek. A beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away on Friday, February 10, 2012. Legendary bandleader Tommy Reed, born Thomas Manuel Enos, died 98 years young surrounded by his family after complications from a broken hip and shoulder. Tommy was born in Valona, California on June 9, 1913 to "Dolly" and Manuel Enos. Mildred and Manuel, his siblings, would later follow. Speaking only Portugese, he started school at 7 at an all boys Jesuit school near his home. Tommy had two childhood passions, baseball and music. He briefly played AAA baseball, went to college on a baseball scholarship but at 19 let it all go to join Joe Venuti's band playing sax for a young singer named Bing Crosby. Tommy had a long, successful career as a bandleader and musician performing with many name bands such as Dick Jurgens and Russ Morgan, before and after the war, but at 28 he enlisted in the Marine Corps, serving from 1942-1945. He fought in the Pacific Theatre earning a Purple Heart among other honors, for his actions in Tarawa and Guadalcanal. Tommy Reed and his Orchestra were renowned throughout the Valley where they played for many years, and his Southwest Booking Agency was a premier supplier of quality entertainment since the mid 60's. Tommy will be remembered for his integrity, talents, loyalty, strong faith, discipline, beautiful heart and his unceasing love for his wife of 47 years, and their children. He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou; their seven children; Carla, Lisa, Shanna, Molly, Mari Lou, Carl, Aimee, 14 grandchildren, sister Mildred, and treasured friends whose lives he touched. We can still hear him say, "love what you do, do what you love", "one day at a time", and "Semper Fi, buddy". We will forever miss you Dad, Papa Tom, my dearest love. 4248 REEVES, Dallas Cecil - Beloved husband, loving father, uncle, grandfather, and exceptional friend, Dallas Reeves died peacefully on August 22, 2012 at the Ian Anderson House for palliative care, after a long battle with Cancer. Forever to be held in loving remembrance by Noreen (nee Dobbs), his wife of 48 years, his sons Ken (Jackie Costello), Greg (Carrie Allemang), and grandchildren Nicole, Christopher and Rebecca. He will be sorely missed by his siblings and in-laws, Jean Campbell, Arlene and John Woodworth, Faye and Garth Toombs, Lorna MACKinnon, Carol and Carl Pauptit, Lucille Dobbs and Judy and Barry Smith. Born in Freetown, PEI on January 7, 1938 he moved to Toronto in 1956 where he put down roots, met the love of his life, started his family and established his successful career of 47 long years in the Canadian highway trailer industry. His love of fast cars and car racing made him a great competitor and he pushed all the days he could at top speed. His passion for life will be sorely missed. Visitation and Memorial Service will be held to Celebrate Dallas' life at the Glen Oaks Memorial Gardens, 3164 Ninth Line, Oakville, ON, on August 28th. Visitation starts at 10:00 a.m., Service at 11:00 a.m. with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Ian Anderson House in Oakville or the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.

4249 Reg Elliott of Williams Lake, B.C. (formerly of South River) passed away peacefully at Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops, British Columbia on July 29th, 2020 with his wife and some close family by his side. Reg was raised in Restoule, Ontario, He is the son of the late Carl and Gladys Elliott (nee King). Brother of Ken (Susan), Glen (Glenda) and Ronnie.
Predeceased by his father Carl, his sister Sharon and granddaughter Mackenzie.
Reg leaves behind his wife Kellie. His children Tina, April (Jason),
Blain and Carrie (Gord) and stepchildren Sonya, Lance and Travis.
His grandchildren Caitlynn (Josh), Tabetha, Tyson, Taylor, Abby, Richard, Brandon, Haden, Nathan, Johnny, Christopher, and his great grandchildren Walter and Madison.
As per Reg?s wishes cremation has taken place.
A celebration of Reg?s life will take place at a later date.
