After serving as Head Principal at Chickasha Jr. High School and Jarman Jr. High, Robert retired in 2000. In 2001, he became an educational consultant with "Aha." A company owned by Dr. Ruby Payne who wrote "A framework for Understanding Poverty." He traveled and made many presentations across the United States introducing teachers to Ruby Payne's philosophy and educational strategies. He retired a second time in 2006. Robert is survived by his wife, Mary, of 56 years, two children a son Clifton M. Touchstone and wife Amy of Norman, OK, a daughter Amber Balderrama and husband Beto of Oklahoma City, OK, and adopted daughter Tammie Reeder of Norman, OK. He was blessed with six grandchildren Grace, Cade, Luke, and Maren Touchstone; and Hannah and Sarah Balderrama. He treasured each grandchild. Robert had many hobbies and interests. He loved to hunt, fish, and camp. He refinished furniture, collected and restored antique fans, made jewelry, experimented with stained glass, and loved working with the metal lathe and mill. As a jack of all trades and a master of some, Robert loved to learn. In life, he always carried with him an enthusiasm for sharing stories and razzing a friend. He loved God's creation and believed in helping others, all while living a life of integrity. His great passion for learning, family, and friends has left an indelible impression on all those who knew him. Few people in this world have lived a life like that of Robert, positively impacting and touching so many. He was loved dearly, and he will be greatly missed by his family and friends. A Celebration of Life Memorial will be held Saturday, March 26, 2022, at 2:00 PM at the Oklahoma City Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) Lodge #123 (OKCPD), 1624 S. Agnew Ave, Oklahoma City, OK 73108. His family asks that if you would desire to do something in remembrance of Robert and feel led to make a donation, that it be to the Oklahoma City Police Department Honor Guard Unit (OKCPD) by mailing a donation to the OKC FOP Foundation and designating the donation to the OKCPD Honor Guard Unit, or to the Oklahoma Wildlife Conservation Foundation www.okwildlifefoundation.org as he valued and respected those who protected us and enjoyed all activities having to do with nature. In remembrance and honor of a man who loved to learn and had many hobbies, we say never stop learning and find a hobby, or in the true character of the man himself, be the person that anyone can come to with a question and never stop asking questions yourself.

4355 Robert Wallace Hadlock passed away on February 15, 2012 at the age of 92. His friends and family will remember him as an avid outdoorsman, fisherman and an accomplished finish carpenter. The trout in Northern Nevada can finally rest knowing that "Bob" won't be trying to coax them out of their holes.
A lifelong Reno resident, Bob was born on June 9, 1919 to Georgia (Willcox) and Leonard Hadlock in a part of Reno known as Coney Island. Bob enjoyed ice skating and skiing as a child and at a young age showed an aptitude for working with wood and mechanical gadgets. While attending Billinghurst Junior High School and Reno High School, he won numerous awards for his wood shop creations. However, his love of carpentry and cars delayed his graduation by several years.
His attraction to water, engines and speed led him to build and crew speedboats on local lakes.
Bob's church was the outdoors and his religion was fishing. He lived by the motto, "Fear no trout, salmon, catfish or whatever he was trolling for that day. Bob fished all over northern Nevada and in parts of California and those trips were the source of many family adventures. He loved to stroll down to the Truckee River, a short distance from his residence, to fish after building cabinets and homes all day.
Fishing was his first love, but he also roamed the Great Basin hunting dove, partridge, deer sage grouse and his number one pursuit, chukar.
In 1942, Bob left his budding career as a carpenter to go off to war, serving his country well if not willingly in the jungles of New Guinea.
He eventually met and married Paquita (Francis) Murillo who was his partner for 59 years and had two daughters Robin and Nancy Hadlock.
Bob worked with a number of local contractors in the Reno area and formed a partnership with Paul Etcheberry subdividing and constructing homes in Southwest Reno.
He is survived by his two daughters Robin and Nancy (Richard Potashin); grandchildren Cassandra Morton, Samantha Brasher (Kyle), Robert Hessler and Andrea Hessler; great grandchildren Natalee Brasher and Rylee Brasher and numerous great nieces and nephews.

4389 Roger Sidwell, 93, died peacefully on Aug. 12, 2017, at Westward Heights Care Center in Lander, Wyo.
Roger was born on Oct. 27, 1923, in Sapulpa, Okla., to Ernest and Frances Mooney Sidwell. Due to his father?s oil drilling company, Roger and his family moved frequently, living in a number of states and Canada, often in less than ideal conditions. They finally settled in Midland, Texas where Roger attended high school.
WWII began shortly after Roger entered Texas A&M. He played football for the Aggies in spite of his small stature. Roger volunteered for the service immediately, but was not called up until the spring of 1943. He became a member of the Army Air Corp and by June of 1944 was flying B24s out of Kumming, China. When he returned to the states, he enrolled at Colorado University.
After graduating in 1948, he followed his brother, Bill, to Cody, Wyo., where they drove tour buses to Yellowstone Park. During his first summer in Wyoming, he worked as a fishing guide on Yellowstone Lake. Later, he met Barbara ?Bobbie? Soulé in Cody and they married in 1949.
Roger was recalled to the Air Force for a reconnaissance mission in 1951 and stationed in Mobile, Ala. He was sent to Georgetown University to study psychological warfare; then on to Indiana University to learn the Turkish language. Roger received several Distinguished Service medals while in the military.
He left the Air Force in 1953, moved back to Cody and worked for Husky Oil as a pilot. Not liking the long hours away from his family, he went to work as the business manager for the Cody school system. In 1962, Roger and Bobbie purchased a guest lodge in Wapiti, Wyo. They ran the Trail Shop for ten years, where they worked as a family with their four children. During his years in Wapiti, he often flew slurry planes to assist with wildfire suppression.
Roger also worked in sales and became a real estate broker for United Farm Agency. He and Bobbie divorced in 1976. Roger then married Lila Vukelich, with whom he spent many happy years traveling, exploring and golfing all over the world.
After retiring, Roger found creative expression through watercolors. He painted hundreds of spectacular landscapes and landmarks, some of which he sold, most he gave away. He built his dream home west of Cody when he was 70 years old. After Lila?s death in 2001, Roger spent his time between Cody and Casa Grande, Ariz., moving to Lander in 2012.
Roger is survived by his children Shawn (Andy) Catsimanes, Kass (Mike) Harrell, Scott (Deanna Matteson) Sidwell, Brian Sidwell, and step-children Mary (Gene) Hodges, Georgene Vukelich, Joe (Chris) Vukelich, Cathy (Rob) Laughner, Milo (Nicole) Vukelich, and by numerous loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Westward Heights for their devoted care of Roger in the final months of his life.
A memorial for Roger will be held in Wapiti, Wyo. (at the Shoshone Bridge, adjacent to the Trail Shop) on Oct. 14 at 2 p.m.

4392 Roland 'Ed' Edwards passed away from natural causes at the VA Home in Boise on Tuesday morning April 24, 2007. Ed was born on Oct. 27, 1928 in Deep River, Conn. to Ernest Mack Edwards and Norma Laurel Woodbury. He was a direct descendent of the Puritans that settled in New England in the 1620´s. The home he grew up in was built in 1786. Ed attended Deep River Schools and also worked the family dairy farm often telling stories of the hard work involved in caring for the dairy herd and operating the horse drawn farm implements. He became expert at his 'teamster' duties with his horses. He also enjoyed the New England outdoors, and with his best friend 'Reggie', he became an accomplished canoeist, woodsman, and marksman. In Jan. of 1947 Ed joined the Army. His duty assignments brought him to Ft. Leavenworth, Kan., Ft. Lewis, Wash., The Alaskan wilderness, and ultimately northern Japan during the Korean War. While in Sapporo, Japan, Ed met and married Sachiko Matsuzuka on Dec. 10, 1953. (Four children were born out of this union however Ed and Sachiko divorced in 1967). Ed was discharged from the Army in 1955 after nine years of service and returned with his wife to Connecticut where he was employed as a machinist. In 1956, Ed was recruited to work for the Brownlee/Oxbow Dam projects so he decided to move, however he never made it all the way as he ran out of money and was stranded in Burley, Idaho. He found a job at a sheep ranch and when he had earned enough money, he moved his family to Payette County, Idaho where he worked for Ore-Ida foods in Ontario, Ore. He was involved in the organization of the 'Union' at Ore-Ida, and became a 'marked man' for his union activities, so he knew he had to move on. In 1962, he accepted a job offer at the Falen Fruit Ranch on Sunny Slope, Idaho as a machinist/mechanic. He moved his family to Sunny Slope and then to Marsing. He worked there briefly and then went to work at the Robison Fruit Ranch where he stayed for the next 11 years. During his time at Robison´s, he built custom fruit processing equipment that is still in use today. He then accepted a job at Carnation Foods in Caldwell as a machinist, welder and fabricator. He later switched to Simplot Foods and then to the Simplot Grandview site where he worked until his retirement. He was widely known for his ability to build anything made of metal, his numerous inventions, and for his uncanny ability to fix anything that was mechanical. Ed enjoyed the Owyhee Mountains and spent a great amount of time exploring and taking photographs while riding his ATV. He was a lifetime member of the (NRA) National Rifle Association, enjoyed all shooting sports, and was an outspoken patriot of gun ownership rights. His best memories were his time spent with his boys and his friendships he made from his time at the Robison Fruit Ranch and Simplot's in Grandview. Ed was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and his passion was genealogy work, name extractions, and attending the Boise Temple. Ed is survived by his four sons and their wives; Bill (Kim) of Kuna, Reggie (Christine) of Nampa, John (Debbie) of Kent, Wash., and Andy (Vickie) of Marsing, 14 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. Friends may visit with the family at a viewing Sunday evening April 29 from 6 to 8 p.m. or on Monday April 30 from 9 to 9:45 a.m. prior to the 10 a.m. service at the Alsip & Persons Funeral Chapel, 404 10th Ave South, in Nampa. Burial with military honors will follow at 1 p.m. at the Veterans Cemetery in Boise. The family wishes to give gracious thanks and appreciation to the staff of Alsip & Persons Funeral Chapel, and the Boise VA Home, for their compassionate and professional service given to our father.

He leaves behind his loving wife of 38 years, Betty Ann Lewis; his parents, Linden and Harriet Armstrong, Camden, N.Y.; his three children, Jason Lewis and Shana Stalker, Neil Lewis and Sarrah Sindoni, Keith and Crystal Lewis; his four grandchildren, Jeremy, Evan, Jillian and Rhyan Lewis; his mother-in-law, Elizabeth Richards; his brother-in-law, William Richards; and many loving aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his father, Alfred B. Lewis; infant sister, Debbie Lou Armstrong; and his father-in-law, Robert J. Richards. Ron was born in Rome, N.Y., on September 15, 1946. He graduated from Camden High School in 1954 and Simmons Institute of Funeral Service. Together with his wife, Ron owned and operated Richards Funeral Home in Owego for many years. He always strived to serve families with dignity and compassion and was a dedicated member of the community as a member of the Owego Kiwanis Club and the Zion Lutheran Church. A passionate sportsman and a lifetime member of the Tioga County Sportsman's Association, Ron won the competition for Tioga County All Around Sportsman, as well as many other titles for archery, trap and handgun competitive shooting leagues. For his dedication and love for the sports, he was an amazingly successful deer hunter and fisherman, sharing the heritage with his family throughout the years. From conquering the woods in Halsey Valley and Pennsylvania to his two matching "Blue Fin" charter boats on Lake Ontario and Venice, Fla., or to just simply drift the river channel with his sons and grandson out behind the house. With his "all out" way of approaching things, Ron lived for his family and was unconditionally devoted to them all. He will forever rest peacefully in God's tender loving care.
A Funeral Service will be held at his funeral home, Richards Funeral Home, Rte. 17c West, Owego, N.Y., on Tuesday, October 16, 2007, at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. Mark Osborn, friend, officiating. Burial will follow in Tioga Cemetery in the Richards family plot. Family and friends are invited to Richards Funeral Home on Monday, October 15, 2007, from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. A deep heartfelt thank you is given to Ron's special group of medical personnel, friends, and family who have helped him through his journey.
