Manning Bradberry Mather Jr., 73, of South Windham, died Friday, (January 19, 2007) at the Mansfield Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation. He was born July 30, 1933 in Essex, son of the late Manning B. Mather Sr. and Marie (Pratt) Manning of Old Lyme. He retired in 1997 from Pratt & Whitney Aircraft after 32 years of employment. He lived in Lebanon for 30 years before moving to South Windham. Manning loved the outdoors, had a Master Gardener's degree, was an avid fisherman and a member of the Willimantic Elks Lodge. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Betty (Hinckley) Mather; three sons and a daughter, James Mather and his wife, Jeanne of Lebanon, Richard Mather and his wife, Nancy of Port Orange, FL, Larry Mather and his wife, Debra of South Windham; Terri Mather-Lang and her husband, Marc of Lebanon; four granddaughters, Jennifer Hudson of Rocky Mount, NC, Heather Pruitt of Port Orange, FL, Jessica Sawyer of Norwood, MA., Stephanie Wasylishyn of Lebanon and four great grandchildren. His family will receive friends at the Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St., Rte. 195, Willimantic on Tuesday from 1 - 2 p.m. with a memorial service beginning at 2 p.m. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
