  • Notes
    • Justin Cody Roblee, 31, of Guangzhou, China, passed away in Kangding, China on May 25, 2016. Justin eagerly entered this world January 26, 1985 during a snowstorm, his parents barely making it to the hospital for delivery of their firstborn. Sadly, he left us as abruptly as he arrived.
Justin grew up in Sardinia, graduating from Pioneer Central in 2003, where he was a four-year member of the National Honor Society, served as an Athlete Role Model Mentor and was a recipient of the Pioneer Faculty Association Scholarship. He studied at RIT and abroad.
In 2007, Unilever hired Justin for a co-op position, which led to fulltime employment after graduating from RIT?s Packaging Engineering Program, with a minor in German Language, in 2008. His work as a Senior Engineer in Global Packaging Development afforded him many travel opportunities, leading him to China in 2011. While with Unilever, Justin made significant contributions to the current Axe body wash bottle and cap designs. Justin took this project from concept generation to implementation in Brazil, China, Thailand, South Africa, Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Indonesia. Justin?s dedication and technical rigor earned him an ?excellent? rating within the company and he was listed as a High Performer, an honor only assigned to the top 10 percent of employees who consistently perform and want to grow.
Justin traveled the world, with an insatiable curiosity about other cultures, customs, traditions and the people he met as he visited over twenty-five countries. His travels led him to many regions of China and much of the USA along with trips to foreign countries including: India, Japan, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Italy, France, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Burma, Korea, Turkey, Croatia, Bosnia, Serbia, Hungary, Bulgaria, Russia, Panama, Columbia, the Netherlands, Poland, Romania, UK, Canada, and UAE (Dubai). Justin invested in people, while learning the language, building relationships and friendships along his journey of life, always seeking to better understand people, including himself. He was humble and kind.
In 2015, Justin graduated from NOLS Wilderness Medicine Institute and became a Certified Wilderness First Responder. Justin left Unilever and after a brief sabbatical decided to follow his dream, co-founding Elevate Wilderness Adventures. This company provided guided backpacking and skills training adventures in pristine wilderness areas across China.
He is survived by his beloved, Cathy Ng of Guangzhou, China; his father, Kelly Roblee of Sardinia; mother, Lori Armstrong of Holland; sister Trisha Roblee of Austin, Texas; maternal grandfather, Ken (the late Joyce Potter) Armstrong of Arcade; paternal grandmother, Eleanor Gibbs (the late Wayne) Chapman of Chaffee; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends from all over the world.
His paternal grandfather, James (Dolores) Roblee, preceded Justin in death.
A Celebration of Justin Cody Roblee?s life will be held on Saturday, June 11, 2016 at the Olmsted Camp, on Benton Road in Sardinia. Friends and family are invited to gather at noon, with the remembrance service beginning at 1 p.m. Please bring a story or memory of Justin to share.
