    • Emma A. Fuller Holem, 89, of El Dorado, died Friday, Sept. 1 at Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital. Services are 10 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 5 at First Church of the Nazarene. Burial will follow in Sunset Lawns Cemetery.
      She was born Feb. 16, 1917, in rural Butler County near El Dorado the daughter of Fred O. and Bessie Fuller. She attended school at Prospect and grew up on the farm. She loved to ride horses, spending hours riding with her brother Buckie herding cows and working on the farm. She attended Prospect Sunday School with her grandmother.
      At the age of 19 Emma was saved in a revival at the Church of the Nazarene and joined the church and was baptized in a river northwest of El Dorado on July 12, 1936.
      She was a Sunday school teacher of children for more than 40 years and was supervisor of the Cradle Roll and taught Bible school for many years also.
      On June 11, 1944 she and Howard Doc Holem were married in the Nazarene Parsonage and spent 51 years together on the Holem farm southeast of El Dorado. He preceded her in death on July 13, 1995.
      Emma is survived by a daughter, Margaret Evelyn Hanks/Holloday and her husband Don, El Dorado; a grandson, Robert Hanks; two granddaughters, Lori and husband Paul 'Mo" Dashner and Robin Hanks; three great-granddaughters; Ravin Hanks, Ryleigh Farr and Makayla Dashner and a great-grandson, Ren Dashner, all of El Dorado.
      She was also preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Alva Fuller and Buckie Fuller and two sisters, Edna Burtchet and an infant sister.
      Memorials in her memory for First Church of the Nazarene and Hope Music Works may be left with Carlson Funeral Home. Friends may call Saturday and Sunday, and on Monday, Labor Day from 5 to 8 p.m.
