  • Notes 
    • James William Lambert was lovingly called home to his Lord and Savior on December 30, 2018, with family at his side. He served the Lord faithfully and adored his wife, Joy L. Lambert and family. He received a bachelors in Education from Northwestern University in Oklahoma and a Masters in Audio Visual Communications from Indiana University. He was a farmer and rancher in Woods County, OK, and for many years he served as a teacher in OK. He moved his family to Plano in 1972 and served as a deacon and elder at First Christian Church Plano. He retired from Richland Community College as a media specialist in 2005 with 3 years of additional service. Following his retirement, he enjoyed traveling, camping, fishing, boating, water skiing, gardening, woodworking, and playing with his grandchildren and family.
      He was born in Hopeton, OK to Clifford and Lorena Lambert, who preceded him in death along with a sister, Joan Kassik. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Joy Lambert of Plano, TX and three loving daughters and son-in-laws, Sandy Gant & husband Jim of Hubert, NC, Christie Purcell-Gilpin & husband Robin of Dallas, TX, and Debbie Hobgood & husband Bill of Lewisville, TX; and grandchildren Nicki Sirmans & husband Michael of Emerald Isle, NC, Ryan Gant & wife Sandy of Stella, NC, Austin Gant of Jacksonville, NC, Peter Purcell-Gilpin of Arlington, TX, Nick Purcell-Gilpin of Bonham, TX, Jordan Hobgood & wife Bronwyn of Bedford, TX, and Morgan Richardson & husband Christopher of Fort Worth, TX, plus 11 great grandchildren as well as a sister, Mary Touchstone & husband Robert of Norman, OK, a brother Frank Lambert and wife Virginia of Hopeton, OK, sister-in-law, Saundra Mick of Shreveport, LA, and many nieces and nephews.
      Funeral services will commence at 2PM on Thursday, January 3, 2019, at the First Christian Church, 813 E. 15th Street, Plano, Texas 75074. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Restland Memorial Park.
