- HELEN J. MARSH, 100, of Monmouth Beach, died Wednesday, Jan. 14, at St. Barnabas Center for Hospice and Palliative Care, Long Branch. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Women's Christian Temperance Union and the Women's Auxiliary of Monmouth Beach Fore Company, where she was a charter member and served as president in 1962. She was also a member of the Monmouth Medical Center Hospital Auxiliary and the corresponding secretary of the Sand Piper Senior Citizens. Born in Baltimore, she lived in Plainfield before coming to Monmouth Beach 74 years ago.
She was predeceased by her husband, Herbert March, in 1965. Surviving are two sons and a daughter-in-law, William Marsh of Monmouth Beach, and Howard and veronica Marsh of Waccamow, N.C.; a daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth and Richard Bohnert of Monmouth Beach; eight grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Flock Funeral Home, 243 Broadway, Long Branch. A funeral ceremony will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with burial following at the Woodbine Cemetery, Oceanport. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Center for Hospice and Palliative Care, 300 Second Ave., Long Branch, NJ 07740; and Asbury Methodist Church, Long Branch.
