- PRETTY, G. Aldon (Al) In hospital on Sunday August 30th, after a courageous battle with gall bladder cancer, George Aldon (Al) Pretty, beloved husband of 56 years and best friend of Maysie Doreen (Moorhouse) Pretty, son of the late Elwood G. and Jean A. (Smith) Pretty. Survived by his sister Sheila Bowman, sister-in-law Edith Moorhouse, several nieces and nephews, and great and great-great nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his sister Winona Pretty. Al worked for many years in the Automotive Trade employed by Myers Chev Olds Cadillac, Belisle Automobile 69 Ltd. and Jack May Pontiac Buick prior to his retirement. Friends are invited to visit at the West Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry , 150 Woodroffe Ave (at Richmond Road) on Wednesday September 2 , 2009 from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held at St. Martin's Anglican Church, 2120 Prince Charles Road, on Thursday September 3rd at 11:00 am, followed by a reception in the Church Hall. Interment to take place at Capital Memorial Gardens. Donations in Aldon's memory to St. Martin's Anglican Church or the Ottawa Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
