    Ruth (King) died peacefully with family by her side after a brief illness on Sunday, June 25, 2006 at North Bay General Hospital. She was in her 93rd year. Ruth was predeceased by her husband Frederick ?Fred? John Young, her son Joseph Lloyd Young, her sons-in-law Robert ?Bob? Miller and Gerard Corcoran. She was the loving mother of Theresa Miller of Kingston, Phillis McKenna of Powassan, Lyle Young of Hanmer, Mina Corcoran of Morinville, Alberta, James ?Jim? Young (Irene) of Powassan, Kalvin Young (Beverley ?Bev?) of Powassan, Stephen ?Steve? Young (Gail) of Powassan, Francis ?Frank? Young (Kathy) of Powassan, Veronica McCutcheon (Mark), Innisfil, Helen Armstrong (Paul) of Bracebridge, her daughters-in-law Shirley Young of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia and Theresa Young of Ottawa. Beloved grandmother of 36 grandchildren and 45 great- grandchildren. Ruth is also predeceased by her brothers William, John, Joseph, George, Henry, Daniel, and Simon King, her sisters Annie Bella King, Florence Busby, Katie King, Jenny ?Jean? Yerkie, and Ethel Newbatt.
    The family will receive visitors at the PAUL FUNERAL HOME on Tuesday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and at St. Joseph's Church on Wednesday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church, Powassan. Interment St. Joseph's Cemetery. If desired, donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated.

    McKENNA, Phillis Ceciali - Passed wasy peacefully , surrounded by her loving family, on Monday April 21, 2008 at her home in Powassan. She was in her 71st year. Phillis was the devoted mother of Mary Lou McKenna (Murray Burnett) of Orillia, Debbie Smith (Ed) of Powassan, Jo-Ann Corrigan (Steve) of Aurora and Nancy Waddle (Wade) of Kitchener. She was a very special G to Amanda and Michael Smith, Breanne and Shannon Corrigan and Sarah Waddle. Phillis was the dear sister of Theresa Miller of Kingston, Lyle Young of Hanmer, Mina Corcoran of Morinville, Alberta, Kalvin Young (Bev) of Powassan, Stephen Young (Gail) of Powassan, Francis Frank Young (Kathy) of Powassan, Veronica McCutcheon (Mark) of Innisfil, and Helen Armstrong (Paul) of Bracebridge. She was predeceased by her brothers Lloyd and Jim Young and is survivedby her sisters-in-law Shirley, Irene and Theresa Young. The family will receive visitors at the Paul Funeral Home, Powassan on Thursday, April 24, 2008 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm with prayers at 8:30pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, April 25 at 11:00am at the St. Joseph's Church, Powassan. Interment St. Joseph's Cemetery, Powassan.     Lyle Young died peacefully, at North Bay Regional Health Centre, on Sunday, May 22, 2022. He was 82 years old. Lyle will be lovingly remembered by his daughter Linda Young, his stepsons Wade (Marlene) and Darin (Patty) Mcbane, and his grandchildren Katarina, Dylan and Owen Mcbane. He was the dear brother of Theresa Miller of Kingston, Mina Corrigan (late Gerard) of Edmonton, Kalvin Young (Bev) of Powassan, Steve Young (Gail) of Powassan, Frank Young (Kathy) of Powassan, Veronica McCutcheon (Mark) of Stroud and Helen Armstrong (Paul) of Bracebridge. He was predeceased by his siblings Phyllis McKenna, Lloyd Young (late Shirley), Jim Young (late Irene), and his former wife Theresa Gaudette. Lyle will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews and friends. Lyle was a driller at INCO in Sudbury, for 33 years, retiring in 1991. The Young family will receive visitors at the Paul Funeral Home, Powassan, on Friday, June 3, 2022 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 4, 2022 at 12:00 pm in the Paul Funeral Home Chapel. Interment at St. Joseph?s Cemetery will follow the service. If desired, memorial donations to the North Bay Regional Health Centre Foundation are suggested.

    Margaret "Mina-Ann" Corcoran Death Notice
    On January 3, 2024, Margaret Mina-Ann Corcoran (nee Young) of Morinville, Alberta passed away at the age of 82 years.
    Mina was born at home on the farm in South Himsworth, Ontario on July 26, 1941. She was the fifth child of 10 of Frederick and Ruth (King) Young.
    She was married to Robert Gerard (Gerry) Corcoran on April 29, 1961 in St. Rose of Lima Church in Scarborough, Ontario. Mina and Gerry lived in Toronto until 1964 and then lived in Pickering, Ontario until 1975. At that time, they moved out west to Alberta. Gerry and Mina enjoyed living on a hobby farm in Gibbons, Alberta. They raised farm animals and horses. Mina loved gardening and had a large vegetable garden on the farm. She had a big heart and always welcomed the many friends and co-workers her husband and children would bring home for a visit and a meal. Mina also worked as a Supervisor at the Redwater IGA. Mina was very active in the Catholic Church. She was a CWL member for many years. She taught catechism and was an active volunteer in many organizations.
    She loved hockey and was an avid fan of the Edmonton Oilers. Besides gardening, she loved cooking, arts and crafts and was known for her many beautiful earrings.
    Mina will be remembered as a loving, caring person with a positive attitude. She was like a mother to many. Throughout her life, she was encouraging, generous and always thought of others rather than herself. She was a living example of Jesus? love and her family and friends were very blessed to have her in their lives.
    She will be lovingly remembered by her children, John, Michael (Annemarie), Paul (Cindy), Diane Kopp (Kevin), Mark (Elisa), grandchildren, Jessie, Kristina, Kyle, Brianne, Robert, Michelle, Gerard, Stuart, Tyler and great grandchildren, Kailey, Jayden and Chloé. She will also be missed by her siblings, Theresa,
    Kalvin (Beverley), Stephen (Gail), Frank (Kathy), Veronica (Mark) and Helen (Paul) and her many nieces and nephews whom she loved greatly.
    Preceded in death by her husband, Robert Gerard (Gerry) Corcoran, her parents, Frederick and Ruth Young, her sister, Phillis McKenna, her brothers, Lloyd (late Shirley), James (late Irene), Lyle Young and brother-in-law, Robert Miller.
    In lieu of flowers, donations in Mina?s memory may be made to the Alberta Lung Association or Diabetes Canada.
    Thank you to the staff and residents of Aspen House for their love and care. She truly enjoyed living there and made many friends.

    James Bernard YOUNG YOUNG, James Bernard - After a lengthy battle with cancer Jim Young died peacefully at his home in Powassan on Tuesday, November 13, 2007 in his 65th year. Jim Young was the beloved husband of Irene (Purdon) of Powassan. He was the loving father of Carol Tofflemire (Dean) of Sundridge, Bernadette Young (Dwayne Drover) of Wasaga Beach, and Wayne Young (Lorraine) of Bradford; Grandfather of Charlie and Eddie Tofflemire and Michaella and Brett Young. Jim was the dear brother of Theresa Miller (Bob, deceased), Lyle Young (Theresa), the late Lloyd Young (Shirley), Phillis McKenna, Mina Corcoran (Girard, deceased), Kalvin Young (Beverley), Stephen Young (Gail), Frank Young (Kathy), Veronica McCutcheon (Mark), and Helen Armstrong (Paul), and brother-in-law of Trudy McAuliffe (Tom), the late Diane Piper (Harvey), David Purdon (Mary-Ann) and Paula Purdon-Graham (Bruce). The Young family will receive visitors at the Trout Creek Community Centre on Saturday, November 17, 2007 from 12:00 to 4:00 pm for a celebration of Jim's life. Cremation has taken place.
