    Charles William Ridge, 81, of Baytown, was born July 22, 1926, in Los Angeles, California to Reverend and Mrs. Isaac Ridge, the oldest of three sons. His Lord called him home early Tuesday morning, October 23, 2007 in Baytown.
    Dad was a member of Trinity Tabernacle Assembly of God in Baytown where he served as a deacon for 21 years. He faithfully supported the ministries of the church and was very involved. He loved his church and served whenever he could and wherever he was needed. His heart was tender towards the things of God and taught his children that prayer and serving our Lord was the most important thing in life.
    Dad proudly served his country in the Philippines and Japan during World War II. He retired from Solvay in LaPorte after 32 years.
    Dad led our family with dignity, integrity, and with all his love. He was a hard worker and taught this to his children. Dad was an honest and fair man and was proud of each of his children as they excelled individually. Always taking time to listen, he rejoiced with us in the good times and continually kept his family in his prayers. Dad shared a love for our mother that is rarely seen as together they set an example of what true love is. We are blessed to be called, ?his children.?
    Dad was proud of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and loved to see them visit. He considered them his heritage.
    We would like to say ?thank you? to his Tuesday morning Coffee Club members, R.W. Johnson and Charles Young for their constant fellowship and encouragement.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. and Mrs. Isaac Ridge, and his youngest brother, Richard Ridge.
    He is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of sixty years, Mary Ridge. His children Sheila Burns and her husband, Jimmy Earl, Sherry Lefler and her husband, David, Marilyn Starnes and her husband, Ray, Charles Russell (Rusty) Ridge and his wife, Deborah.
    His Grandchildren: John Britten Churchill and wife Cynda, Janci Burleson, Tish Silva and husband Ray, Brandi Jones and husband Rick, Jamie Irvin and husband Bobby, Jake Lefler, Anthony Starnes and wife Rachel, Autumn Starnes, Adam Starnes and wife Codie, Keli Armstrong and husband Jeremy, Kaelyn Ridge, Jennifer Henager and husband Chris.
    Great Grandchildren: Sterling Churchill, Madison Aubey, Colton Churchill, Justin Pagel, Rylen Morton, Seth Hamilton, Grace Hamilton, Caleb Starnes, Tyler Ridge and Aidyn Armstrong
    Brother: Chester Ridge and his wife, Martha
    In-laws: Peggy and Joe Brewer, Patty and Edward Shull, Pete and Barbara Jones, Billy and Dian Jones.
    Many nieces and nephews and a host of friends also survive him.
    The family would like to thank SEV Home Health Care, Beth, Wilma and Edith and a special thanks to his care givers, Alicia and Judith for their loyalty.
    The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 25, 2007, at Navarre Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Baytown from 6:00-8:00 P.M.
    His celebration of life will be held at Trinity Tabernacle Assembly of God, 1008 East Lobit in Baytown at 10:00 A.M, Friday, October 26, 2007.
    Officiating ministers are: Rev. Larry Hayes, Rev. Earl Banning, and Rev. Ronald Shull. Graveside services will follow at Memory Gardens on Garth Road in Baytown.
    Serving as Pallbearers are: Rusty Ridge, Jimmy Earl Burns, David Lefler, Ray Starnes, John Britton Churchill, Anthony Starnes, Jake Lefler, and Adam Starnes.

    Bobby Harland Banning, 79, of Dilley, TX passed away peacefully November 12, 2016.
    Bobby was born June 26, 1937 in Woodward, Texas. He was the third child of John L. Banning and Lennis Ridge Banning. Upon graduation from Dilley High School in 1955 he joined the US Navy and became a certified Navy Electrician at the age of 18 serving in the Pacific Theater on the USS Walker. He served in the US Navy for 8 years.
    Upon discharge, he returned to Dilley where he worked with his Father as a building contractor before joining South Texas Telephone which later became Valley Telephone Cooperative. He served Valley Telephone for 37 years eventually rising to the position of Manager of the North District.
    In 1959 Bobby married the love of his life, Vanetta Laster Banning. They were married 57 years upon his death. From this union they had two sons. John Earl Banning and Mark Steven Banning.
    Bobby was a member and board member of First Assembly of God in Dilley, Texas where he and Vanetta, served faithfully and provided a musical combination that blessed congregations for decades. Bobby was an exceptional guitarist, influenced by the likes of Chet Atkins, Merle Travis and Les Paul. His love of the guitar began at an early age and continued throughout his life. Even in his later years he studied new styles and approaches as he pushed his ability and love of music forward.
    Bobby is survived by his loving wife, Vanetta. John and Carrin Banning of Happy Jack, AZ. Mark and Gina Banning of Dilley, TX. The joys of his life, granddaughters Jessica Leigh Banning of San Marcos, TX; Carly Vanetta Banning and McKenna Lynn Banning of Happy Jack, AZ; Grandson Ryan Gray of Dilley, TX; Brother Raymond Banning of Conroe, TX; Sister Brenda Harland and husband Benny of Jourdanton, TX; and a large loving family. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother Ronald David Banning.
    Bobby loved life and always looked for the positive in everything. He was faithful and encouraging to all. He loved his family, friends and community.
    A celebration of Bobby?s life will be held at Lighthouse Church in Dilley, TX Saturday November 19, 2016 at 2:00pm. Internment to immediately follow at The Dilley Cemetery.
    There will be no visitation at the Hurley Funeral Home prior to service.

Sterling High School and received his Associate's Degree from Lee College and was an electrical engineer at Jacobs Engineering. He attended Trinity Tabernacle Assembly of God Church while growing up and was currently attending Mont Belvieu Assembly of God Church.
    He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Ridge and uncle, Gregory Brake. He is survived by his fiancée, Kathy Johnson of Baytown; son and daughter-in-law, Kirk and Clarissa Ridge of Pasadena; daughters, Angela Ridge and Amanda Ridge, both of Houston; mother and stepfather, Maryann and Dennis Campbell of White Settlement; brothers and sister-in-law, Jeffrey Lee Ridge of Fort Worth and Tracy and Susan Ridge of Weatherford; sister and brother-in-law, Susan and Dan Frost of Talequah, OK; uncles and aunts, Dell and Sue Brake of Midlothian and Jack and Terry Brake of Fort Worth; and grandsons, Noah, Asher and Fynnlan.
    His family will receive friends Friday, March 27, 2009 beginning at 1:00 p.m. at Trinity Tabernacle Assembly of God Church, 1008 E. Lobit Ave, Baytown, TX 77520 with a memorial service to follow at 2:00 p.m.
