MONMOUTH BEACH -- William H. Atkins, 72, died Saturday at his home, 59 Riverdale ave.
Born in Manassas, Va., Mr. Atkins was a son of the late John and Caroline Atkins. A retired electrician, mr. Atkins had been a resident here 13 years. He was a member of Asbury Methodist church, North Long Branch; International Brothers Electrical Workers union and Free and Accepted Masons of Baltimore, Md.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Mary E. Watkins Atkins; a daughter, Mrs. Herbert Marsh, this place; three brothers, John Atkins, Portland, Ore.; George Atkins, Baltimroe, and James Atkins, MacLean, Va.; three grandchildren and a great grandchild.
The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon at the flock funeral home, Long Branch, with Rev. William I. Roberts, pastor of the Asbury Methodist church, officiating. Burial was in Woodbine cemetery, Oceanport.

HELEN J. MARSH, 100, of Monmouth Beach, died Wednesday, Jan. 14, at St. Barnabas Center for Hospice and Palliative Care, Long Branch. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Women's Christian Temperance Union and the Women's Auxiliary of Monmouth Beach Fore Company, where she was a charter member and served as president in 1962. She was also a member of the Monmouth Medical Center Hospital Auxiliary and the corresponding secretary of the Sand Piper Senior Citizens. Born in Baltimore, she lived in Plainfield before coming to Monmouth Beach 74 years ago.
She was predeceased by her husband, Herbert March, in 1965. Surviving are two sons and a daughter-in-law, William Marsh of Monmouth Beach, and Howard and veronica Marsh of Waccamow, N.C.; a daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth and Richard Bohnert of Monmouth Beach; eight grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Flock Funeral Home, 243 Broadway, Long Branch. A funeral ceremony will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with burial following at the Woodbine Cemetery, Oceanport. Eileen A. Fick, age 98, passed away Saturday, September 30, 2017, in South Bend, IN.
Eileen was born February 9, 1919, in Baltimore, MD, a daughter to the late George and Viola Atkins.
She graduated from Catonsville High School in Catonsville, MD, and matriculated at the College of Notre Dame of Maryland, from which she received her Bachelor of Science degree, cum laude, in 1939.
Eileen enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1944, and was assigned to the Naval Warfare Testing Station at Solomon Island on the Chesapeake Bay. She met her future husband, Clarence Fick, who was serving as an officer on a mine sweeper, and they subsequently married on November 20, 1946, in Halethorpe, MD. He preceded her in death on February 16, 2010.
Eileen moved to Missouri with Clarence, where they first lived in Rich Fountain, later moving to Jefferson City where they started a family, and then residing in St. Louis. In 1968, Eileen and Clarence returned to central Missouri, building a new home just outside of Linn.
Eileen was a long-time member of the Osage County Extension Club and was a founding donor of the Women in Military Service for America Memorial in Arlington, VA.
Eileen is survived by one son, Robert Fick and one daughter Barbara Fick.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 17, 2017, at St. George Catholic Church in Linn with Fr. Daniel Merz as the Celebrant. Burial will follow in the St George Parish Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to St. George Catholic Church in Linn.

Monmouth Beach - William H. Marsh, 92 of Monmouth Beach, died peacefully on September 3, 2019 at home. Born in Plainfield, he was a life resident of Monmouth Beach. Bill was an electrician at Ft. Monmouth before retiring in 1982. He served our Country honorably in the US Navy. He was member of the Asbury United Methodist Church in Long Branch; a 70 year member of the Monmouth Beach Fire Department and Chief in 1960; Long Branch and Red Bank Ice and Boat Clubs; and he and his dad were the Borough's electrician for over 50 years.
He was predeceased by his wife Myrtle in 1993 and his daughter Karen Marsh in 2012. Surviving are his daughter and son in law, Barbara and Kevin Keeshen; his brother, Howard Marsh; his sister, Elizabeth Bohnert; 2 grandchildren, Bryan and his wife Cindy, Peter and his wife Katie and five great great grandchildren, Sarah, Elizabeth, Owen, Ryan and Allison.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 9, 2019 from 4-8 pm at the Damiano Funeral Home, 191 Franklin Avenue in Long Branch. Funeral, Tuesday, 9:30 am from the funeral home with a service to begin at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at Woodbine Cemetery, Oceanport. Howard James Marsh, 91, of Lake Waccamaw, NC, passed away on the early morning of June 29, 2023.
Born on May 20, 1932 at his home in Monmouth Beach, he was resident of Monmouth Beach and West Long Branch before retiring and building a home in Lake Waccamaw, NC. He had recently relocated to "Williams Island", Bert's farm in Butler, TN. In addition to being a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Howard was a member of the Lake Waccamaw Methodist Church. He was a 73 year member of the Monmouth Beach Fire Department and Chief in 1964. At his passing, he was the Senior Member and Sr. Ex Chief. He also was a volunteer for the West Long Branch Fire Co #2 and the Lake Waccamaw Fire Department. Howard was a member of Local 400, IBEW for 39 ½ years.
Howard enjoyed activities in his lifetime such as fireman's softball, bowling, gardening, fishing roller skating and ice boating. He and his brother Bill enjoyed sailing the "snow flake" ice boat. Howard was known for his quick wit and funny sense of humor. He had a kind and accepting nature, always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. Though a man of few words, when Howard spoke, his words carried weight, whether they were good or bad. He took great pride in his family and cherished the time spent with them.
Howard was predeceased by his wife Veronica on January 1, 2023, his brother William, his grandson Christopher and a niece Karen. Surviving are his sons, Edward and Diane, Oceanport, Richard and Suellen, Bricktown, William (Bert), Butler TN, and Christopher and Jeanne, West Belmar, his sister Elizabeth Bohnert, 10 grandchildren, Lauren & Kenny Phillips, Erica & Adam Guttenplan, Joshua Marsh, Courtney & Jared England, Edward & Katie Marsh, Hayley Marsh & Matt Britton, Ryan Marsh, Megan & Anthony Valenti, Hillary & John Morgridge, Matthew Marsh and 8 great grandchildren, Samantha and Leah Guttenplan, Wyatt England, Edward Marsh, Maximus Britton, Sophie Morgridge and Isabella and Natalina Valenti.

Katherine Kallas Megenhardt died on Sunday, October 3, 2021. She was 79 years old.
Born on June 3, 1942, in Arbutus, MD, she was the daughter of Edward and Eleanor Kallas.
Katherine enjoyed her 10+ years of service for Queen Anne?s County as a park ranger, as well as going crabbing occasionally. She preferred a nice quiet evening at home and visiting with her family. Seeing the smiling faces of her grandchildren always warmed her heart.
Katherine is survived by her daughter, Lauren Kazmarek and her husband James; her grandsons, Jimmy Kazmarek and Jason Kazmarek; and brothers, Joe, Mike & Steve Kallas. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband, George Megenhardt.
A service will be held at Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home P.A., in Chester, MD, on Monday, October 11, 2021, at 10am with a visitation on Sunday, October 10, 2021, from 2pm-4pm. Burial will follow the service on Monday in Stevensville Cemetery.
