    Boettger, Kathleen "Kay" - After a very brave struggle, following heart surgery, at University Hospital, London, Ont., on Wednesday, Feb. 7, 1990, of 507 Oakridge Place, Waterloo, age 68 years. Mrs. Boettger was an active member of Bridgeport United Church. Loving mother of Barbara and her husband Herbert Quickfall of RR 1, Waterloo, Joyce and her husband Bob Winegar of Orangeville, June and her husband David Cunningham of Conestogo, Bonnie and her husband Greg Koehn of Waterloo; daughgrer-in-law, Edith Boettger of Petersburg and her late husband David Boettger. Dear sister of Marie Underwood, Margaret and her husband Lorne Heiman, all of Kitchener, Louise and her husband Don Boettger, Wilma and her husband George Messer, all of Waterloo, Jane MacFadden of Weston, Myrtle and her husband Erwin Hintz of Waterloo, Joanne and her husband Harry Kuntz of Ponte Clarke, Que., Lloyd Lough of Waterloo, Harold and his wife Trudy of Kitchener. Also survived by 13 grandchildren and three-great-grandchildren. Predeceased by her husband D. Warren Boettger in 1985; three brothers, Roy, Norman and Ernest; and one sister, Esther. Mrs. Boettger's family will receive friends at the Edward R. Good Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo, on Thursday 7-9 pm and Friday 2-4 and 7-9 pm. At noon, on Saturday, transfer will be made to Bridgeport United Church for service at 2 pm, Rev. John Markbart officiating. Cremation to follow.

    Barb Quickfall, 74, died April 9, 2015 at Grand River Community Health Centre in Kitchener. Born June 8, 1940 in Kitchener to David "Warren" & Kathleen "Kay" Jennie (Lough) Boettger. Loving wife of Herbert Arthur Quickfall for 52 years. Cherished mother of Heather & John Leffler, Rick Quickfall, Phil Quickfall & Heather Godwin. Much loved Grandmother of Sarah and Lisa Leffler, Helen (Leffler) & Robert Smith, Max and Emma Quickfall, and Great Grandma to John Smith. Sister to Joyce & Bob Winegar, June & Dave Cunningham, and Bonnie & Greg Koehn, sister-in-law to Edith & Murray Shantz, and Alice (Quickfall) & Cam Clair. She is predeceased by her parents, husband, brother David Boettger, sister-in-law Ruth (Quickfall) & Hugh Craig. Barb will be missed by her nieces, nephews, cousins, honorary grandchildren, friends and neighbours. Barb loved the family farm on Kraft Drive, where she made a welcoming home for her family and countless guests. Herb and Barb hosted many youth through the Lions and other youth exchange programs. They made friends across Canada and around the world, accepting invitations to visit many of them in their homes. Her love of history, family and community, led Barb to write The Boettger Banner and a history of her father's family, and to edit The Bridgeport News for over 30 years. As an avid reader and a member of the Waterloo Historical Society and Kitchener-Waterloo Field Naturalists, she continued to learn throughout her life. Mom loved to share what she learned with others, through discussion, newspaper clippings, pioneer nights, Mission and Service events and holiday parties. Barb loved bird watching, walking, camping and learning about nature; interests she shared with her family and friends and as a Brownie leader, Beaver leader and cook at Everton Cub Camp. Being informed and wanting to make difference, she and Herb were active members of the Liberal Party. Barb took censuses and worked in many elections, leading to her being appointed as the returning officer for Waterloo Wellington in 1997 and 2000. Her strong faith and volunteerism kept her active in the EUB and then United Church. Barb's love of music led her to sing in the choir for most of her life. She volunteered in many ways at Bridgeport United Church; served on the executive of Waterloo Presbyterial, represented her church at Waterloo Presbytery, volunteered in the Presbytery Resource Centre, and was secretary of the Camp Ganadaoweh and Hamilton Conference Camp committees. Barb served as the secretary of the Bridgeport Community Association from its formation. She helped with dances, movie afternoons and a wide variety of activities and programs run by the association at the Bridgeport Community Centre. Some of the programs she enjoyed the most were tai chi, basket weaving and watercolours. After years of sketching nature and landscapes, Mom recently developed a passion for painting and shared many of her watercolours with family and friends. Barb's family will share memories with friends at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Friday, April 24 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. A Celebration of Barb's Life will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2015 at 3 p.m. at the Bridgeport Community Centre, 20 Tyson Dr., Kitchener.     Boettger.- David Warren, son of D. Warren and Kathleen Boettger, was born at Kitchener, Ont., July 31, 1941; died of cancer at Kitchener, Ont., Apr. 25, 1988; aged 46 y. On June 20, 1964 he was married to Edith Weber, who survives Also surviving are 2 daughters (Kimberley and Brenda), one son (Brian), his mother, and 4 sisters (Barbara Quickfall, Joyce Winegar, June Cunningham, and Bonnie Koehn). He was preceded in death by his father. He was a member of Erb Street Mennonite Church where funeral services were held on Apr. 27 in charge of Wilmer Martin and Doug Snyder; interment in Erb Street Mennonite Cemetery.

    KOEHN, Bonnie (nee Boettger) 1951 - 2016 Passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 19, 2016 after a long battle with cancer. Bonnie will be sadly missed by her loving husband Greg of 45 years, daughters Tamara (Tammy) Rome (Iain) and Cindy Koehn. Adoring Nana to Camden and Noah Rome. Sister of Joyce Winegar (Robert) and June Cunningham (David). Sister-in-law of Edith Shantz (Murray), Karen Boegel (Brian), Cheryl Krauskopf (Jerry), Glenn Koehn, David "Grip" Koehn (Alice), Brian Koehn (Linda) and Debra Africh (Mike). Niece of Dorothy Mussleman, Myrtle Hintz (Erwin), Joanne Kuntz (Harry). Niece-in-law of Jean Montag and Dorothea Helmkay. Mummy to Gen Adams. Also sadly missed by many cousins, nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Warren and Kathleen Boettger, brother David Boettger, sister Barbara Quickfall (Herbert), and in-laws Wally and June Koehn. Bonnie was a faithful member of Bridgeport United Church where she was President of the United Church Women and on various committees. Bonnie loved quilting, crocheting, entertaining, and watching sports. She also enjoyed the many functions of UA Local 527. Sincere thanks to the caring staff at the Grand River Regional Cancer Centre, CCAC, Care Partners, ParaMed, and Shoppers Drug Mart Parkdale. Special thanks to Cindy and Tamara for taking such good care of their mother and to Cheryl Krauskopf and many friends and relatives for the help they provided. Friends and family will be received at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home , 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Friday, May 27, 2016 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held at Bridgeport United Church, 40 Bridge St. W., Kitchener on Saturday, May 28, 2016 at 11 a.m. with Heather Leffler officiating. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or Bridgeport United Church may be arranged through the funeral home.
