    • George Bakos, 80, of Lady Lake, Fla., formerly of Middletown died Sunday, Nov. 30 at his home in Lady Lake. He was a warehouseman and manager for Middletown Plumbing and Heating in Middletown for 49 years before retiring in 1993. He was born in Newark, and lived in Middletown for 50 years, moving to Lady Lake 15 years ago. George celebrated his 80th birthday with a party in September surrounded by his family and friends. He was a former member of Middletown Elks Lodge 2179, Middletown, and VFW Post 2179, Port Monmouth. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean conflict.
      He was preceded in death by his first wife, Doris M. Bakos, 1962; sister, Mary Bakos and brother, John Bakos. Surviving are his wife of 30 years, Marion White Bakos, of Lady Lake; son, George J. Bakos, of Long Branch; son and daughter-in-law, William and Diane Bakos, of Bricktown; daughter, Lynn Bakos, of Port Monmouth; daughter and son-in-law, Gail and Lester Long, of Red Bank; step-son, Edward Marsh, of Oceanport; step-son, Richard Marsh, of Bricktown; step-son, William Marsh, of Bricktown; step-son, Christopher Marsh of Middletown; grandchildren, Dana and Dan Kolmer; great- grandsons, Ryan and Joshua Kolmer; brother, Edward Bakos, of Whiting; sister, Elsie Bakos, of Whiting; sister, Eleanor Turcsik of Union and 13 step-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
      Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, 115 Tindall Road, Middletown. Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday at the Funeral Home. Burial will be at Fair View Cemetery, Middletown. Memorial donations are requested to be made to Cornerstone Hospice, 2445 Lane Park Rd., Tavares, FL 32778.
