Record: Immigration Alice Farthing, 21, sailed from Southampton on the SS Ascania on June 27, 1925, arriving in Quebec on July 5, 1925. She travelled third class, with passage paid by the Canadian Government. She took the CNR train to Mattawa, Ontario where she met up with her husband-to-be, John Hazelwood. Her contact back in Britain, was her grandmother, Mrs. Farthing, in Greens Court, Upper Ipswich. Alice immediately became a Landed Immigrant.
