On Tuesday, February 12, at Almonte Country Haven, Delmar passed away peacefully at 91 years of age. He was predeceased by his loving wife Ruth Beane (2003) and an infant daughter, Grace (1959). He is lovingly remembered by daughter, Cheryl (David) Liston and sons Robert (Diane) and Bryan McKirdy. He loved and was loved by nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents Wm and Catherine McKirdy; two brothers, Willard and Edwin; three sisters, Muriel McKirdy, Lauretta Rhodey and Eunice Noland. Friends may call at the Almonte Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 154 Elgin Street, Almonte on Sunday, February 17, 2013 from 1 to 3 pm and 6 to 8 pm. Service will be held at the Almonte Civitan Hall on Monday, February 18th at 2:30pm. Spring interment at Guthrie United Cemetery. McKIRDY, Ruth Eleanor Of Clayton (October 15, 1915 - December 6, 2003) Ruth passed away suddenly but peacefully at Carleton Place Memorial Hosptial. She leaves to mourn Delmer her loving husband of 60 years. She also leaves three children, Cheryl (Dave) Liston, Robert (Diane) and Bryan McKirdy. She was predeceased by an infant daughter Grace in 1959. She was the dear grandmother of Paula (Dallas) Young, Peter (Janis) Liston, Julie (David) Sorensen, Steven, Barbara Ann, Michael (Haley), Jeremy, Tyrell, Lianna McKirdy. She also leaves six great-grandchildren as well as the 10 foster children that she cared for over the years. Beloved sister of Esther Bell, Que. and Eva MacLean, N.B. Predeceased by three brothers, Earl, Charles and Ivan Beane and two sisters, Florence Gillespie and Stella Beane. Friends may call at the Kerry Funeral Home, 154 Elgin Street, Almonte for visiting on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Service in the Kerry Chapel on Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. Interment Guthrie United Cemetery, Clayton.
