    Mr George Peacock
    Final tribute was paid to the memory of Mr George W. Peacock by a large circle of friends and relatives at his funeral on Monday, Sept 3rd. Mr Peacock passed away at the Hupp Nursing Home, Franktown on Sept 1st, 1956. Born on Sept 16th, 1879 at Middleville he was a son of the late Gabriel Peacock and Caroline Williams, One of a family of three, a brother, Nelson of Middleville survives, a sister, Agnes, predeceased him. He was married in 1908 to the former Annie Munro of Halls Mills who survives along with seven children and 20 grandchildren, namely: Mrs Vernon Donaldson, (Carrie), of Lanark; Mrs Alex McArthur, (Annie) of Ramsay; Lena of Chile, South America; Mrs Melville Wark (Muriel) and Wilbert of Ramsay; Everette and Nelson of Prince George, B.C.; Mrs Wilbert Paterson (Katie) and Jean predeceased him. The funeral service from the Comba Funeral Home was conducted by Mr William Sim and Vernon Haddlesey. The pallbearers were Alex Munro, Fred Toop, Melville Paul, Edwin McKirdy, George Peacock and Wilbert Paterson. Interment was in the Auld Kirk Cemetery. Many beautiful floral tributes were received from friends and neighbours.

    Mrs George Peacock
    Funeral services were held on Sunday, May 2nd, for Mrs Annie Peacock, beloved wife of the late George Peacock. She passed away in the Almonte General Hospital after a short illness in her 80th year. The funeral was held from the Comba Funeral Home to the Auld Kirk Cemetery. The service was conducted by Mr Peter Zimmerman and Mr George Poole. Mrs Peacock was born in Darling Township, a daughter of Hugh Munro and Jennie Price. Surviving are three sons and four daughters: Wilbert of Carp; Everette and Nelson of Prince George, B.C.; Mrs Vernon Donaldson (Carolyn) Lanark; Mrs Alex McArthur (Annie) Ramsay; Mrs William Rhodey (Lena) Kitchener; Mrs Melville Wark (Muriel) Clayton. She was predeceased by two daughters (Jean) Mrs Wilbert Paterson, (Katherine) of Ramsay. Also surviving are 27 grandchildren and three greatgrandchildren. One sister Mrs William McKirdy and two brothers, Ernie Munro of Ramsay and Jacob of Prince Albert, Sask. Pallbearers were Fred Toop, Alan Thompson, Gordon Thom, Clarence Hazelwood, Harold and John Munro.
