Beloved Mom of Jim (Lynda). Treasured Granny of Greg, Erin Powell (Shawn), Mark (Katie Lewis) and Melinda. Cherished Great-Granny of James, Liam, Cole, Jacob, Grace, Evan and Avaleigh Vera. Dear sister of Florence Weber (Dewaine), Isabel Crampton (the late Garfield Crampton & the late Gordon Mackey), Jean Scott (the late Arthur Stewart & the late Clarence Scott), Eunice Richardson (Rev. Dr. George), Donald Buchan (Marjory), the late Harold Buchan and his wife the late Lottie and the late Lois Morrow (Norman-surviving). Dear sister-in-law of Elmer (Joyce) and the late Carl (Ruth Fife-surviving), the late Eric (Audrey-surviving), the late Edna Yuill (late Guy) and the late Melvin (Elizabeth Closs- surviving). Friends may call at the Alan R. Barker Funeral Home, 19 McArthur Ave., Carleton Place on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Thursday after 1 p.m. Funeral service to follow in the chapel at 2 p.m. Interment at United Cemeteries later in the Spring. Donations in memory of Vera to the Carleton Place Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family. Vera's family wishes to extend special thanks to Dr. Roger Drake and the staff at Stoneridge Manor for the care and kindness shown to Vera.

Ramsay Twp. Sun. Dec. 18, 1927, Jacob Price of Galbraith.
He was in his 79th year and was the son of the late Ira Price and Margaret Prettie and was born in Darling Twp. He was married to Esther Munroe of Darling, who predeceased him seven years ago. He leaves three sisters and one brother; Annie (Mrs. Albert Vardy) in Alberta; Margaret (Mrs. Foster) of Kingston; Maria of Picton; Alex. of Brancroft and Ira in Alberta. There are also his seven daughters and three sons; Maggie (Mrs. Rutherford) Unity SK; Lizzie (Mrs. Lambe) Winnipeg; Mary (Mrs. Thomas Sise) of McDonald's Corners; Marion (Mrs. Stewart Gunn) of Tatlock; Alice (Mrs. Milton McKay) and Jean (Mrs. Ernest Foste) of Clayton; Lila (Mrs. Alex Munro) of Almonte; Jacob and Ira of Saskatchewan; Thomas on the homestead at Clayton. Two children died in infancy and Esther died in Winnipeg in 1905; while Hugh died 14 years ago. Burial in Clayton Cemetery.

Esther (Munro) Price :1916

Mrs. Jacob Price, Sr., of Galbraith, mention of whose sudden death was made last week, was born on Sept. 9th, 1851. Mrs. Price's death was caused by heart failure. She was seemingly in good health until within a few hours of her death. Her maiden name was Esther Munro, and she was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Munro of Darling. In 1873 she was married to Mr. Jacob Price, and to them fourteen children were born, two of whom died in infancy, and Hugh A., died in Feb. 1914, and Mrs. Wm. Lyons (Esther) in Aug 1905. Those who are still living are: Mrs. Sandy Rutherford (Margaret Jane), Unity, Sask.; Mrs. Edmond R. Lambe (Elizabeth C.), Shoal Lake, Man.; Mrs. Thomas Fife (Mary), McDonald's Corners, Ont.; Mrs. Milton McKay (Alice L.), Middleville, Ont.; Mrs. Alex Munro (Delilah), Hall's Mills, Ont.; Mrs. Ernest Foster, (Jeanie), Galbraith, Ont.; Messrs: Jacob and Ira Price, Sonningdale, Sask.; Mr. Thomas Price, on the old home at Galbraith; Miss Marion Price at home. Rev. Mr. Currie, Baptist minister, from Lanark, preached, assisted by Rev. Mr. Merrilees. The flowers were a beautiful spray from the family. Mrs. Price was a member of the W.M.S., and was always a faithful attendant when possible, and was always ready to lend a helping hand in any good cause. She will be missed in that as well as in many other ways.
