    Notes:

    Ralph I. Main, 87, of Church Hill Farm, North Stonington, died peacefully on Saturday, April 13, 2013, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Jacqueline M. (Duffy) Main for 62 years. Sadly, she predeceased him on Feb. 4, 2012.
    Born in North Stonington on April 14, 1925, he was the son of the late Ralph I. and Margaret Hazel (Brown) Main.
    Mr. Main owned and operated Church Hill Dairy Farm in North Stonington for many years and later retired from the state of Connecticut Highway Department in 1987.
    A true Swamp Yankee he was a member of the North Stonington Grange for over 75 years, North Stonington Fair Association, North Stonington Historical Society, president of Union Cemetery Association, and weigh master at North Stonington Fair. He was also a former first selectman for the town of North Stonington.
    He will be sadly missed by his children, Deborah L. Proulx and her husband, Gerald, of North Stonington; Douglas I. Main and his wife, Carol, of Lindent, Vt. He also leaves his sister, Beverly Poole, of Ohio, and six grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. He was predeceased by his daughter, Diana Lynn Walters, and a grandson.
    A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, April 17, 2013, at 10 a.m. at Union Cemetery, Route 49, North Stonington. Calling hours are respectfully omitted.
    In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the North Stonington Historical Society, 1 Wyassup Road, North Stonington, CT 06359.
    Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Buckler-Johnston Funeral Home, 121 Main St., Westerly.

    Jacqueline M. (Duffy) Main, 79, of Pendleton Hill Road, North Stonington, died peacefully on Saturday, Feb. 4, 2012, at the Norwichtown Rehabilitation and Nursing Home. She was the beloved wife of Ralph I. Main.
    Born in Montgomery, Vt., on Feb. 7, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Tellisfort and Ruth E. (Banning) Duffy.
    Mrs. Main had been an office administrator at Yardney, in Pawcatuck, for over 20 years before retiring.
    Jacqueline enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was also, an avid reader and fan of the UConn women's basketball team.
    Besides her husband of over 62 years, she will be sadly missed by her children, Deborah L. Proulx and her husband, Gerald, of North Stonington, and Douglas I. Main and his wife, Carol, of Linden, Vt. She was the sister of Bernard Duffy, of Hampton, Conn., and Harley Duffy, of Westerly. She was the loving grandmother of six grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She was predeceased by her daughter, Diana Lynn Walters, on Dec. 21, 2011, and her grandson.
    A graveside service will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. at Union Cemetery, Route 49, North Stonington. Calling hours are Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buckler-Johnston Funeral Home, 121 Main St., Westerly.

    Groton, CT - Ruth E. (Banning) Duffy, age 95, of Elm St., Noank, died peacefully Saturday, Oct. 24, 2009, at The Westerly Hospital. She was the wife of the late Tellisfort Duffy.
    Born on April 21, 1914, in Goshen, Conn., she was a daughter of Orrin and Martha Banning.
    Mrs. Duffy was a homemaker and worked at the Pearce Baptist Home. Ruth loved doing crafts, crocheting, knitting and painting, she also had a love for the outdoors and birds.
    She will be sadly missed by her daughter, Jacqueline Main of North Stonington; sons, Bernard Duffy of Hampton, Conn. and Harley Duffy of Westerly, R.I.; seven grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
    Besides her husband and parents she was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
    Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service at 1 p.m. on Tuesday in the Buckler-Johnston Funeral Home, 121 Main St., Westerly. Burial will follow in Maplewood Cemetery, Norwich. Calling hours are respectfully omitted.
