    Blaine Bernard Passut of St. Johnsbury, beloved husband of Pamela Passut, passed away Thursday, May 5, 2011 at the age of 63.
    He was born in St. Johnsbury on July 31, 1947, the oldest of three sons born to Robert and Thelma (Royce) Passut. His mother passed away Feb. 21, 1978.
    Blaine graduated from St. Johnsbury Academy with the class of 1965. He married Pamela Lacroix at St. Johns Church on June 19, 1967. He served with the St. Johnsbury Fire Department for five years before beginning his 22 year career in the Army in 1973. He was honorably discharged with the rank of Sergeant First Class in 1995. He and Pamela lived all over the world: Germany, Louisiana, Arizona, Kentucky; his last appointment was at West Point. Following his military career, Blaine was employed for 16 years at the Caledonia Co. Community Work Camp; he was working up until two weeks ago as the food services supervisor.
    Blaine will be remembered for his passions which included a love for the great outdoors, fishing, hunting, hunting camp in Danville, baseball cards, all New England teams, and above all else the enduring love he had for his family.
    He is survived by his loving wife Pam; his daughter Tracey Nell Billings and Terry Wright of St. Johnsbury; his son Captain Jeremy Blaine Passut and wife Tamara of Ft. Sill OK; Tracey's children Matthew, Katelyn, and Jacob; Jeremy's children, Lydia and Noah; his father Robert Passut and wife Benita of Jensen Beach FL; two brothers, Brent Franklyn Passut and wife Patricia of St. Johnsbury and Barry Robert Passut of South Burlington; cousins, especially Sharon Bean Dolloff of Lyndonville, and Steve Bean of Florida; nieces and nephews, many who called him Uncle Bubba; and his adored pets who were more than pets, dogs Jasmine and Fergie, and Felix the cat.
    Funeral services will be held Monday, May 9 at 1 p.m. at the St. Johns Church on Main St. in St. Johnsbury. Military honors will follow the service at the chapel at
    the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. There will be no visiting hours.

    Robert Franklyn Passut of St. Johnsbury, 90, and most recently of The Canterbury Inn, passed away Sunday, July 19, 2015, surrounded by his family.
    Robert was born in Greenfield, Massachusetts, on Aug. 24, 1924, the son of Frederick and Marjorie (Robinson) Passut. He was predeceased by his first wife, Thelma (Royce) Passut, on Feb. 21, 1978, and his second wife, Benita (Boardman) Passut, on March 10, 2012. He also was sadly predeceased by two of his three sons; his oldest Blaine Bernard on May 5, 2011, and his youngest son Barry Robert on Jan. 14, 2013, and by his sister, Margery (Passut) Bean and her husband Benny Bean, of Lyndonville.
    The majority of his working career was as a machinist with Fairbanks-Morse Co. from where he retired in 1989 after 40 years. At that time, he and Benita moved to Jensen Beach, Florida where he worked for Publix Super Markets.
    He enjoyed his retirement wintering in Florida and spending his summers at their camp in Sutton North Ridge.
    He is survived by his son Brent F. Passut and his wife Patricia (Davio) Passut of St. Johnsbury, daughter-in-law Pamela (Lacroix) Passut-Sanford of St. Johnsbury; eight grandchildren: Blaine's children Tracey (Billings) and Jeremy; Brent's children Jeffrey, Justin (partner Erin), and Jordan, Barry's children Tiffany (Danner), Timothy 'TJ', Nathan Leach and all their families; 10 great-grandchildren. He leaves the extended Boardman family members which include Jerry, Bonnie, Jane, Susan, David, Paul, Sheila, Ellen and James and their families which include 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. Additional survivors also include former daughter-in-laws Dawn Beliveau and Kathy Dastalto, one niece Sharon (Bean) Dolloff and nephews Steven, David, Jeffrey Bean and families.
    A special thanks goes to stepdaughters Susan Deslauriers for her calls every single night, and to Ellen Boardman for her special lunches and picnics, and to granddaughter Tracey for having her Bumpa up to the house for weekly meals.
    Robert proudly served in the Army during World War II in the Italian campaign. He was a member of Company A of the 351st Infantry, Regiment T in the 88th Infantry Div. of the 5th Army. He later served in the Vermont National Guard and was called to duty during the Korean conflict.
    Burial services with military honors will be held at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in August at the family's discretion.
    Memorial contributions may be directed to The Canterbury Inn, 46 Cherry St., St. Johnsbury.
