JACKSON, William Herbert "Bill" As a result of a long life well lived, Bill passed away at Robertson House Bells Corners on July 4th 2010. Born in Toronto on March 30th, 1927 to Blanche Edith Short and John Thomas Jackson "Jack". Beloved husband of the late Olive Mae Debusschere. Loved and respected father and father-in-law of Ann Salembier of North Vancouver, Carol (Richard Rose), John Jackson of Yellowknife, Thomas (Kim Jackson) and Ken Jackson (Dana McNicol). Cherished Grandfather of Patrick Salembier of North Vancouver, Colin (Sophea Taing), Kathleen (Alex Murray) and Mitchel Rose; Alexis Jackson of Kingston; Scott, Dan and David Jackson. Bill graduated from the university of Toronto with a masters in engineering and was a long term employee of Energy Mines and Resources. He was a passionate scholar of History; the Romans in particular and all things architectural. World traveller, lover of Nature, raucous dinners with his grandchildren and telling stories... lots of long stories. The family would like to thank his "dog walking" friend Karen Lank for her friendship and support, Robertson House for their respectful care of both Bill and his family on his last journey as well as the Neurological unit of the Ottawa Hospital. Family will receive friends on Wednesday July 7th at the Pinecrest Visitation Centre (2500 Baseline Rd. Ottawa), from 11 a.m. until the time of the service to Celebrate Bill's Life at 1 p.m. in the Pinecrest Chapel. In lieu of flowers donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Ottawa Humane Society would be appreciated.
