    The death occurred suddenly on January 22, 1964 of Herbert L. Coxford at Almonte General Hospital at the age of 78. He was born at Blakeney, the youngest son of the late Jas Coxford and his wife Mary Kennedy.
    He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Sarah Ila Scott, one son and three daughters namely, Edwin of Winnipeg; (Elizabeth) Mrs. Robert Duncan of Almonte; (Kathleen) Mrs. C.M. Thomson of Cooksville; (Ruth) Mrs. Kenneth Fresque of Ottawa and twelve grandchildren. One brother Thomas of Ottawa and a sister (Janie) Mrs. Charlie Black of Fort William survive. He was predeceased by seven brothers, William and Alfred of Almonte, David and John of Rochester, N.Y. Archie and James of Edmonton and Robert of Estevan and six sisters (Ann) Mrs. W. Barber, (Jessie) Mrs. Robt Barker, (Esther) Mrs B. Forsythe, Mary, (Aggie) Mrs M. Snedden, (Elizabeth) Mrs A. Fulton. Two died in infancy.
    Mr Coxford was a faithful member of the Almonte United Church. He was a member of the Session and served on many church boards and committees. For several years he served on the Board of Education and belonged to the Mississippi Curling Club of which he was an ardent curler. in Mr 1960 Mr and Mrs Coxford celebrated their golden wedding.
    As a young man he attended Eastern Dairy School, Kingston, Ontario. On leaving Kingston he made cheese and butter at Elm Side, Quebec; Blakeney; 8th line Cheese Factory and with Producer Dairy Ltd., until his retirement some 10 years ago, having spent his entire life in the dairy business.
    The funeral, which was largely attended was held on Jan 25th from the Kerry Funeral Home to the Auld Kirk Cemetery. Rev Francois Gerard conducted the service
    The pallbearers were Victor Kellough, Norman Paul, Bert Young, Herb Snedden, Harold Robertson and Wilf Snedden.
    Many floral tributes and contributions for the heart Fund were received.
