    CECIL McINTYRE

    The sudden death of Cecil Milton McIntyre of 188 Country Street occurred in Almonte on, Monday, October 20th, 1975. He was in his 62nd year. Mr. McIntyre was born on December 26, 1913 in Langham, Saskatchewan, the son of the late John A. McIntyre and the Euphemia Barr. Mr. Mclntyre served from 1940 to 1945 in the R.C.A.F. during the Second World War. He farmed in Ramsay township for several years, after which he was employed by Pfizer of Canada in Arnprior for thirteen years. Ill health then forced him into semi-retirement. An avid fan of all sports and very interested in music, Mr. McIntyre was also a member of the Almonte United Church. On July 10, 1943, he married Evelyn Symington in Almonte whom he predeceases. Mrs. McIntyre is an elementary school teacher in Almonte. Surviving are his wife Evelyn, and daughters Wilma Jean Chapman of Ottawa, and Gail Evelyn Colbourne of Bells Corners. Also surviving are brothers; Everton of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan; MacPherson of Delisle, Saskatchewan, David of Langley, British Columbia; and sisters Violet Brown of Langham, Saskatchewan, Jean McMillan of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan; and Ada Urquhart of Edmonton, Alberta. Predeceased is one daughter, Gwen Evelyn, who died in infancy. The funeral was held from the Kerry Funeral Home, Almonte, on Thursday, October 23 at 2.00 p.m. with interment in Auld Kirk Cemetery. Rev. Robert J. McCrea officiated. Pallbearers were David Chapman, Douglas Colbourne, Mac McIntyre, Dave McIntyre, Clair Symington, and Wayne Symington. Fellow members of the church session serving as Honourary Pallbearers were Ross Craig, Cecil Turner, George Robertson, John Caldwell, Gordon Anderson and Jim Paul. Flower bearers were Alan Symington, Donald Symington and Ronald Symington.

    Cecil married Evelyn Euphemia Symington on 10 Jul 1943 in Almonte, Ontario, Canada.     McINTYRE, Evelyn E. Retired Teacher Passed away at the Almonte Country Haven on Friday, November 12, 2010 at the age of 95 years. Beloved wife of the late Cecil McIntyre. Dear mother of Wilma Chapman (Dave) of Kanata and Gail Colbourne (Doug) of Kars. Cherished grandmother of Brad Colbourne (Trisha), Brian Colbourne (Jill) and Jeffrey Chapman. Great grandmother of Charlie Colbourne. Survived by her sister Mary McIntyre of Saskatoon. Predeceased by her brothers Milton, Alex and Charles Symington. Friends may call at the Almonte Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 154 Elgin Street, Almonte on Monday, November 15, 2010 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held in the chapel Tuesday, November 16, 2010 at 11 a.m. Interment Auld Kirk Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Almonte Country Haven would be greatly appreciated.

    MRS. J. H. SYMINGTON

    The death occurred in the Rosamond Memorial Hospital, Almonte on Tuesday, Aug. 30th of Mrs. Joseph (Margaret Jennett Munro) H. Symington following a short illness. She was 81. Born in Darling Township, she received her education there and in 1903 married Joseph H. Symington, a Ramsay Township farmer and former Reeve of Ramsay. Mrs. Symington was an active church worker in St. Paul's Anglican Church. She was a member of the Women's Auxiliary and the Ladies' Guild. Besides her husband, she leaves three sons and two daughters, Milton and Alex of Arnprior; Chas. of Almonte; Mrs. Everton McIntyre of Saskatoon; Mrs. Cecil Mclntyre of Almonte, also one brother, Alex Munro of Galbraith, 14 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. The body was at the Kerry-Scott Funeral Home until Friday when the funeral service was conducted at St. Paul's Anglican Church by Rev. Canon J. W. R. Meakin. Interment was in St. Paul's Cemetery. The pallbearers were Messrs. Allan, Donald, Claire and Wayne Symington, William Dean and Lorne Bretzlaff.
