    Following a brief illness in hospital at Almonte on Monday, January 12, 2015. Dianne Majaury of Almonte. Dearly loved wife and best friend of David Majaury. Cherished mother of Deborah Thomas (Tim), Brenda Cole (Duane) and Colleen Liddle (Derek). Loved Gran of Terri-Lynne Scott (Dan), Robert, David, Jaime, Aidan & Nate as well as Great Gran of Caleb & Gabriel. Also survived by her siblings; Oliver, Sharon, Sharleen, Sheilagh, Fred, Kathleen, Wilfred, Percy ?Bud?, Karen, Orville & Gwen. Predeceased by her sisters: Marilyn, Brenda, Patricia and Janie. Friends may call at the C. R. GAMBLE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL Inc. 127 Church Street, Almonte, Ont. (613)256-3313 for visiting on Wednesday, January 14 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. Private Family Service will be held in the Chapel on Thursday.

  1. 4.  James Henry Majaury was born on 27 Apr 1914 in Lanark Highlands Township, Ontario, Canada; died on 25 Feb 1980 in Almonte, Ontario, Canada; was buried in Auld Kirk Cemetery, Almonte, Lanark County, Ontario, Canada.

    Notes:

    James Henry Majaury, 48 Main St West, Almonte, died February 25 at home. He was 65. Born April 27, 1914, in Lanark township, Mr Majaury was educated in the Clayton district. He was the son of the late Joseph and Barbara Majaury. A retired taxi driver, Mr Majaury attended Almonte United Church. he and his wife Margaret were married in Carleton Place in 1941. Mrs Majaury also worked as a taxi driver, although she has now retired. Mr Majaury is survived by his wife, his son David, of Almonte, his daughter Donna, of Ottawa, by brothers Ervin (Waba) and Harold (Lanark) and by sisters Ella (Mrs Camille Ladouceur of Clayton), Alma (Mrs John Mann of Pakenham), and Mrs Lillian Hughes of Chesterville. A public funeral was held February 28 from Gamble & Comba Funeral Home. The service was conducted by Reverend A Manson. Burial took place at Auld Kirk Cemetery. Pallbearers were G. Knight, A Mann, B Majaury, G Folkard, L. Ladouceur, and A. McArthur.

    REUBEN GILES
    Reuben Giles, a retired railroader, died on Thursday, October 22. He was in his 86th year and was born at Union Hall and resided there for some twenty-five years. He then moved to Blakeney where he lived until his wife; the former Bertha McArthur died some twenty-two months ago. He then moved to Almonte to live with his daughter and son-in-law. While in Blakeney he made many friends where he was known as a good neighbour. He suffered failing eyesight for some twenty years, which became an increasing handicap. Mr. Giles was one of a family of four, one of whom survives, namely Robert Giles of Almonte. There are also four half-sisters, Mrs. Eva Rankin, Ottawa; Mrs. Ada Traill, Smiths Falls; Mrs. Margaret Corrigan, Spruce Lake, Sask., and Mrs. Minnie Elliott, Sonningdale, Sask. Two half-brothers are deceased. Though Mr. Giles had been in failing health for some time the end came suddenly, and unexpectedly. The funeral was held from the Comba Funeral Home, Almonte, on Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. to the Auld Kirk. Cemetery. The pallbearers were Messrs. George Arthur, James Bingham, George Robertson, Stewart Paterson, Lloyd Giles and Orville Giles.
