    ALLEN, Leonard Lewis - The family announces with great sorrow the death of Leonard Lewis Allen in the comfort of his residence on July 6, 2007 at the age of 73. He is survived by his wife Beverly Dodd. Loving father of Theresa (Rick) Deschamps, Catherine (Kelly) O'Grady, Leonard Jr. (Linda) Allen.Stepfather of Gary (Evelyne) Dodd and Bonnie (Steve) Desrosiers. Grandfather of Tanya-Lyn, Christopher & Scott Deschamps, Melanie, Tyler O'Grady, Patty-Lyn and Mathew MacDonald, Cody & Shaye Dodd, Stephanie and Bradley Desrosiers. Dear great grandfather of 10 great grandchildren. Also left to mourn his sister Mary Allen of San Francisco. The family of the late Mr. Allen will receive friends at the PERRIN FUNERAL CHAPEL 128 Whitewood Avenue, New Liskeard , Sunday July 8, 2007 from 7 until 9 p.m. Memorial Service for the late Mr. Allen will be celebrated on Monday July 9, 2007 at 11:00 am from the Perrin Funeral Chapel. Reverend Kitty Miller officiating. Mr. Allen was an avid hunter for 25 years with the “Hamburger Hill” group , a fisherman and archer. He also belonged to the gun club and loved his horses and his dogs. He worked for Northern Telephone for many years. He was also a strong union member. Mr. Allen was a generous kindhearted man who enjoyed life. If desired donations to the Temiskaming Hospital Cat Scan Fund or to Happy Paws will be appreciated.

    Leonard married Colleen Lucy Bolger on 16 Jun 1956 in Temiskaming Shores, Ontario, Canada. Colleen (daughter of William J. Bolger and Isabel H. ?) was born on 17 May 1937 in Parry Sound, Ontario, Canada; died on 8 Apr 2007 in North Bay, Ontario, Canada; was buried in Haileybury Roman Catholic Cemetery, Haileybury, Timiskaming District, Ontario, Canada.     At North Bay General Hospital, Scollard Site, Sunday, April 8,2007 in her 70th year. Dearly loved mother of Theresa Deschamps (Rick), Cathy O'Grady (Kelly) and Len Allen (Linda). Lovingly remembered by 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren and many friends. Dear sister of Theresa McDonald (Herb), Rosemary McLelland (Scott), Ron (Joan), Gerald (Dolly), Raymond (Corine), Jim (Debbie), John (Anne) and Dennis (Retta). Predeceased by her parents Isabelle (nee Larkin) and William Bolger, a sister Doreen Bastein and a brother Bill Jr. Bolger. Memorial visitation at the McGUINTY FUNERAL HOME, Friday, April 13th from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Funeral service will be conducted in the McGuinty Funeral Home Chapel, Saturday at 11:00 a.m. Interment of cremated remains will take place at Holy Cross Parish Cemetery, Haileybury at a later date. Family members wish to extend a special Thank You , to all nurses, ambulance attendants, Dr. Clark and Dr. Mah for their caring manner, in providing our mother a comfortable stay at Scollard and McLaren Site Hospitals.
