Charles Arthur Allaben, 60, of Pekin, Indiana passed away on Monday, December 1, 2014. He enjoyed reading, playing cards, and spending time with family and friends. Chuck was also a member of Pekin United Methodist Church.
He was born on February 10, 1954 in Grand Rapids, Michigan to the late Arthur and Mary Louise (Banning) Allaben. Chuck is survived by his children, Jason Allaben (Jena), Sarah Clouse (Shane), Heather Allaben; siblings, Martha Adams (Rick), Greg Allaben (Linda), David Allaben, John Allaben (Ann); grandchildren, Vincent Clouse, Sarah and Destiny Wooten.
A Memorial Gathering will be held from 1 PM to 6 PM Friday, December 5, 2014 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) with a Memorial Service taking place at 6 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions in Chuck?s memory be made to the American Diabetes Association

Arthur Banning Allaben, 78, of Indianapolis and formerly of Scottsburg, died Thursday April 4, 2002, at his home.
Mr. Allaben was a retired administrator of hospital healthcare from Scott Memorial Hospital. He was a U.S. Army Air Corp. World War II veteran, a member of the Scottsburg United Methodist Church, American Legion Post 234, Masonic Lodge 572 F&AM, and a former member of the Kiwanis Club in Scottsburg. He had lived in Indianapolis for five months. Born January 8, 1924, in Rockford, Illinois, he was a son of John Everett Allaben and Maude Ollivia Banning, who both preceded him in death. He married Mary Lou Sowles.
The Rev. Douglas Wallace conducted funeral services at Scottsburg United Methodist Church. Burial followed the service. Masonic memorial service will be conducted on Saturday at Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana.

Mary Louise Allaben passed away Friday, Dec. 20, 2011. She was the beloved wife of the late Arthur B. Allaben. She was born April 10, 1926, in Rockford, Ill., to George and Georgia Sowles. She was a devoted housewife and caretaker of her family. Mary Lou is survived by her loving children, Martha Adams, Charles, Gregory, John and David Allaben. She is the grandmother of seven, and great-grandmother of one. Visitation celebrating her life from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 7, at the Crown Hill Gothic Chapel, with memorial service at 11:30 a.m. Private burial. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association . Arrangements entrusted to Leppert Mortuary, Nora Chapel.

John married Maud Olivia Banning in 1917. Maud (daughter of Arthur S. Banning and Martha J. Davis) was born on 18 Aug 1893 in Scranton, Pennsylvania, USA; died on 19 May 1963 in Winnebago County, Illinois, USA; was buried in Greenwood Cemetery, Rockford, Winnebago County, Illinois, United States.
