Obituary - John P. Coslick, of Halsey Lane, Bridgehampton, died at his home on August 4 after a long illness. He was 64.
Mr. Coslick was an electrician, was a past commander of Nathaniel Howell Post, American Legion, and past president of the Bridgehampton Community House Association. He was a volunteer fireman, and members of the Fire Department were pall bearers at his funeral.
He is survived by his wife, Mildred, and by two children, Arnold Coslick of Bridgehampton, and Mrs. Gertrude Brown of Westhampton.
The funeral service was held last Thursday afternoon at the Brockett Funeral Home, the Rev. Herbert E. Moyer officiating. Burial was in Woodland Cemetery, Bellport, L.I.

John married Mildred P. Smith in 1925. Mildred (daughter of William Preston Smith and Fannie Gertrude Monsell) was born on 19 Aug 1895 in Borough of Brooklyn, New York, New York, USA; died in Mar 1980 in Bridgehampton, New York, USA; was buried in Woodland Cemetery, Bellport, Suffolk County, New York, USA. Obituary - William Preston Smith, aged 75, for many years a summer resident of South Country Road, Brookhaven, died suddenly on Saturday at his home, 105 Morris Avenue, Rockville Centre. Born in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, he had lived in Rockville Centre for the past 35 years.
He was formerly manager of the Milk Bottles Federation, from which he had retired. He was a life member of the Tuscan Lodge, Free and Accepted Masons, of Brooklyn.
He leaves his wife, Mrs. Fannie G. Smith of Rockville Centre; two daughters, Mrs. Mildred Coslick of Bridgehampton and Mrs. Frances M. Guest of Merrick; three sisters, Mrs. Fannie Rankin of Brooklyn, Mrs. Amy DeArcas and Mrs. Nina Foster, both of Brookhaven, and three grandchildren.
Mr. Smith was a charter member of the Bellport Fire Department.
The funeral service was held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Bellport Methodist Church, the Rev. Charles J. Carpenter, pastor, officiating, with interment in Woodland Cemetery, Bellport.
Estate - The will of William Preston Smith of Brookhaven, who died March 17, disposes of more than $20,000. The estate is to be divided in thirds and given to Fannie G. Smith, his widow and daughters, Frances Guest and Mildred P. Coslick.

William married Fannie Gertrude Monsell on 26 Oct 1892. Fannie (daughter of Edward Monsell and Ellen Albee) was born on 1 Dec 1871 in Bellport, New York, USA; died on 27 Feb 1963 in Bridgehampton, New York, USA; was buried in Woodland Cemetery, Bellport, Suffolk County, New York, USA. Obituary - Mrs. Fannie G. Smith, 91, died Feb. 27 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Mildred Coslick of Bridgehampton, after a long illness. Mrs. Smith was the widow of the late W. Preston Smith.
Surviving are Mrs. Coslick, Mrs. Frances Guest of Merrick, also a daughter; a sister, Mrs. George Cramer of New London, Conn.; three grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Smith was a member of the King's Daughters. Funeral services were held Saturday at the Brockett Funeral Home, Southampton, the Rev. Richard Manning officiating. Burial was in Bellport.

Obituary - Drowned at Patchogue - Early on Saturday morning the body of Edward Monsell, a well known resident, was found floating in a slip leading from Patchogue river. Mr. Monsell is supposed to have been seized with apoplexy and fallen into the slip while on his way home the previous evening, and drowned before he could make his cries for help heard.
Mr. Monsell was 66 years of age. A widow and seven children survive him. They are Charles Monsell, of Brooklyn; Robert Monsell, assistant postmaster at Richmond, Va.; Mrs. Preston Smith, of Bellport; Jennie, wife of the Rev. F.L. Frisbie, formerly of Bellport; and Rose and Mary, of Connecticut.
Mr. Monsell was a man highly esteemed in the community, and prominent in Masonic circles, being Tyler of South Side Lodge No. 493, F. & A. M., a member of Suwasset Chapter 195, and of Patchogue Commandery. He was also a member of the Suffolk County Mutual Benefit Association. The remains were buried with Masonic honors on Tuesday.

Edward married Ellen Albee. Ellen (daughter of William Hall Albee and Mary Alice Banning) was born in 1842 in Indiana, USA; died on 28 Nov 1884 in Bellport, New York, USA; was buried in Woodland Cemetery, Bellport, Suffolk County, New York, USA. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
