BYRNES _Vilda Gertrude Louise (nee Stewart) died March 29 in Eston Jubilee Lodge after a long illness. She is predeceased by her husband, Lorne Alex Byrnes and mourned by children, Glenn (Pat) of Eston, Jim (Shiela) of Galiano, BC and Joan (Al Hiebert) of Blackstrap. Grandchildren and greatgrandchildren are: Carrie and Colin Wallace (Cassie and Ryan), Melanie and Rob Lobdell (Paige and Brooke), Dean Byrnes and Monika Stengele, Jennifer and Bradley Flubacher (Ethan and Alexander), Jason Hiebert, Todd and Lorna Hiebert. Vilda was a talented musician, music teacher and choir director in the Kindersley, Richlea and Eston communities. Funeral Service will be held March 31 at St. Andrews United Church, Eston, SK at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Doug Ponto presiding. Eston Snipe Lake Funeral Chapel in charge of arrangements.

Vilda married Lorne Alex Byrnes on 11 Oct 1938. Lorne (son of Henry Alexander Byrnes and Sarah Elizabeth McNichol) was born on 9 May 1914 in Kindersley, Saskatchewan, Canada; died on 10 Jul 1999 in Eston, Saskatchewan, Canada. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
