George Raymond Megenhardt

George Raymond ?Ray? Megenhardt, of Chester, MD, died on April 29, 2016, at Compass Regional Hospice in Centreville. He was 78.
Born September 2, 1938, in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late James F. and Lorraine Weippert Megenhardt.
Ray grew up in Baltimore, graduating from Poly Tech High School. Soon after graduation, he began his career as a licensed plumber with Donald Miller. He married his wife, Katherine Kallas Megenhardt, in 1965, where they made their home in Chester. Ray later went to work for Northrop Grumman in Linthicum, MD, from where he retired. After retirement, Ray enjoyed the Eastern Shore life. He loved fishing, crabbing, golfing and wood working. He also was a member of St. Christopher?s Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Katherine Megenhardt; his daughter, Lauren Kazmarek (James) of Chester; his two grandchildren, Jason and James Kazmarek, Jr.; and his brother, Robert Megenhardt of Canada.
Services will be held on Monday, May 2, 2016, at Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home, Chester, MD at 11AM, where family and friends may visit from 10-11AM. Burial will follow at Stevensville Cemetery.

George married Katherine Kallas in 1965. Katherine (daughter of Edward Joseph Kallas and Eleanor Kathleen Atkins) was born on 3 Jun 1942 in Arbutus, Maryland, USA; died on 3 Oct 2021 in Maryland, USA; was buried in Stevensville Cemetery, Stevensville, Queen Anne's County, Maryland, United States.
